Faverolles? Are you nuts?!!? LOL! They aren't a real aggressive bird... as long as your other birds aren't they should do fine together once they get used to each other.

Kimmie, sorry about your hen.

So, hoping that I am not making a mistake, I found an ad for a local farmer selling 17 laying hens. They are 2 years old, they are offered as stew birds because they are not laying. I would think it is due to the weather, lighting, etc. So, I am going to go and get them. They are only $2 ea. I am hoping that this is the right thing to do, I will check them for bugs while I am there to be sure and keep them separated for a bit. I figure that if they don't lay come spring, then we eat them, if they do lay, we eat the eggs. Win-Wi
what breed are they.. check their pelvic bone also.. for $2. that good price even if they dont lay.. Good luck..

Taprock Great eagle pictures.

Kimmie so sorry you lost your hen..

opa great advise for turning eggs, i have a egg turner with my incubator.. are they reliable

Seriously uggo chick!

Ok... Faverolles... Loralie is a big bad word hen. Florus, bottom roo... Even Fritz the Jerk beats him up. Mr Fluffers however was head roo and only ever got beat up once by Roger, and that was after Roger was hawked the first time. He had no problem kicking the crap out of the neighbors BR. Funniest thing I ever saw. Well anyway, most my flock is a faverolle mix. They are just calmer birds. Less flighty. Talk a lot. Grouch a lot. Lol.

I was up at 430 and had my first cup of coffee 10 minutes later. Read all the posts on the Michigan thread, worked the LA Times crossword, and then got Granny up to take her for a blood test. This was the last of the weekly tests and the doctors have decided that she is doing so well that she can now go to monthly tests.
My apologies, I'll have to try harder. Good new is always welcome. I hope she continues to improve.
Beautiful, what are they?
