Anyone hear from Chicken Grandma lately?

well... we all know what they say about opinions........... I prefer to forgive n forget... well actually I usually just tend to forget! LOL!

Bretheren, glad to hear your DH is doing well!

Today I'm test driving a used van. It's actually pretty nice, power everything..... oh and the heated seats... NICE!! LOL! But there's a couple things I want them to check. Belts making noise (which makes me think there could be another issue). and there's something clunking underneath, exhaust maybe? But, hopefully they'll fix it if we decide to get it. DH is in Germany this week and won't be home till Sunday, I may be able to keep the van till he gets home, but I'm not sure yet.. one owner and a car fax maintenance history at the same dealership up the wazoo. So it's been well cared for, no accidents and the body and interior are in perfect condition.

Daron!  Are you getting my PM's?  It's just that you haven't answered in about a week and I worry that we might have maxed out that discussion thread - if that's even possible.  If that's not the case, no worries.  Well, actually I'd worry anyway.  Just wondering if I can send the hubby out for milk this evening?  I'd send seeds with him.

Replying your pm. Been busy. Sorry :)

Have a wonderful sunny day today!!!

Spring is here!!! I saw a beautiful pair of Swans flying north against the backdrop of trees lit-up by the fiery setting sun. It just about took my breath away. I watched them until they were out of sight, then resumed feeding the pigs and cows. I love living in the country!!!

oh I know, I can imagine living anywhere else. I think of all the wonderful things I would miss living in the city. Nothing can compare. Hope everyone has a great weekend! It should be warmer (rainy though).

Snowflake,

Thank you for asking, and good morning all.

He is really doing amazingly well, far ahead of schedule according to his doctor and physical therapists. He is still in hydro therapy, but will be starting land therapy soon. He is walking without any aide, though there is typically a "hitch" to his step, even on the best of days. A few weeks ago, he started taking care of the horses and donkey at the barn in the mornings and DS is helping in the evenings as well, which has really helped me out with my increased work schedule since I'm working 10 - 11 hour days now. My stress relief is still my chickens though. Every morning and night they are there, waiting for me. Tilting their heads and chirping at me as if to say, "What? Hard day today?"

For those of you new to this thread, on October 15th, my DH had a 1400 lb I-beam roll over on his ankle and leg which totally crushed it. At the time, we weren't even sure it could be saved.

SO glad to hear the good news!!!

The ladies can't get out of the coop fast enough in the morning to check everything out and see if I left any treat for them, but the boys act like being out of the coop is going to kill them! Silly chickens!
Fired up the incubator this morning to see if I can get the temperature dialed in before we go on vacation. Hopefully I will be able to set eggs as soon as we get back from vacation.

I'm getting 4 or 5 eggs a day right now, and I've got a pretty good idea of who is laying and who is not. I've seen no 'courting' behaviors from my EE roo though. Maybe he's not old enough??

Should be hearing back from someone on CL today about a coop as well. I'm really hoping that the person who is taking the chickens passes on the coop and we get it.
