I wonder if taking the dogs to the scene with a leash and muzzle, and turning them loose outside the pen would offer hard evidence. You'd know in an instant by the dog's reaction if they'd been there before; but saying this had i come upon any animals of mine dead in a pen with any dogs in there with them i know for a fact that that would be the end of the dog. My temper would have won this one; even if the dogs didn't do it they still came and got in. THAT is an offence in itself. Even if the animals were already dead that means that they might have gotten a taste and therefore would have a strong desire to come back. But i'd have to see the pig's fence too; a good fence should have been decently hard to get into.
In any event whoever is in the right even if it's the dog owners you have to give some credit to the farmer for holding his temper and NOT shooting the dogs on sight since it would have been perfectly legal to do so.
Opa, you aren't avoiding us because of the bumblefoot thing are you? I didn't mean to offend you by being the devil's advocate. Since mine had it before i knew it was a definite possibility and if that were so time is not on anyone's side since it'll drive itself into the bloodstream. I'm still not sure why some birds get it so easy and so bad despite proper nutrition and weight and roosts and such. If you haven't had it yet you must be doing something right!![]()
