Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

No hatch progress over night. The eggs are still talking but the zips are the same. Actually they look more like cracks.  I think it will be a long day.

It was (is) pretty brisk here. The thermometer under the covered patio reads 40. Thank goodness for coffee and crosswords to help warm up the morning.

Keep us posted. With pictures. I'm having baby chick withdrawals here.

Hello from Brighton, MI!

Question: Has anyone been to BJ's Poultry in Howell? I've gotten all if my hens from Destiny Farms in Milford so far, but I want to diversify my coop a little.. or does anyone reccomend a place near me where I can get chicks/started hens?

I just got back from the Michigan gamebird breeders fall swap.  Lots of chickens, geese, quail, peas, ducks, rabbits, pheasants, and pigeons.  I saw some pigeons that I've never seen before, they were German somethings, can't remember, but their beaks were really different.  And some of the pigeons were huge.  Someone there had some really nice lt brahmas I know i'm going to regret not getting.  I just really don't need anymore chickens.  I did get a chocolate runner for a buddy to my white runner. Cutlers was there which is nice- no shipping.

Where is this at??

Anybody have any extra muscovies? I lost a setting female to a coons, and so now my other one is lonely on the pond, as the pekins have nothing to do with her.

I'm in Hillsdale county.

Are you looking for anothet duck or is a drake okay? I have 6 (possibly 7 - I have one very unusual color that I can't decide whether or not to keep) 3 month old drakes that are getting too big for their britches here. They are friendly and always come running when I call them. Their sire has great caruncling (if that's even a word, lol) so these boys should be quite handsome! I have chocolate pied, black pied, and one that will probably fade to grey pied. One is mostly white with faint silver patterns - he's a bit younger than the others.

This is starting to get nerve wracking.
