New Kids A little on the rough side loves to cuddle So far real sweet
Are these the ones you got from Laura? A lot of them were pretty roughed up by the roosters. The 6 I got Saturday are still freaked out by the move - the others that I had gotten from her before calmed down and know I'm the walking treat dispenser, lol. I now have 4 that look like the girl in your 3rd picture. Laura called the color 'chocolate chip'. Did you get any Araucanas?

Yep. Diddo on the roughed up. They actually calmed down a lot last night when the girls were holding them. except for the little black one (maran?)#1 She wasn't sure if she was going to part with it( same one in all pics she thinks its a pullet). She didn't want to part with any of her araucana girls(breeding stock) only the roo's. She said she got her eggs from up north. I still came home with 5 (1 isabrown/1 chocchip?/3 maran?)I think thats what their suppose to be. any way they pecked at the little guys once or twice but not real bad so I left them together. Everyone was fine this morning when I fed and took pics.Laura was real nice. Did you get the little white one? it she said she sold it saturday. well anyway pics please!!! Also I'm gonna try and get pics of the little ones tonight if you wanna guess sex???

FYI, the Coho fishing by stream was just awesome this year. More awesome is the stuff I smoked yesterday. My brine was salt brown sugar, and the maple syrup I make. 6 hours of apple wood smoking over coals. I think it's the best smoked I've ever made. Must be the weather. Now to break into the cherry wine that's been in a carboy for almost 4 months and see if it's ready to bottle. Of course where I'm going with this is a little wine, smoked salmon, and maybe some cheese (that I did not make). Maybe next year I'll make some goat cheese and that'll round out what you call self-reliance almost.
