Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

Just got back from a trip to New York for the birth of my grandaughter! Of course, she's beautiful and I had a hard time leaving to come home. However! Poor DH had to make a few detours on the way home to pick up several dozen Pheasant eggs (somewhere in Ohio) and some Mallard eggs in Rockwood. He refused to stop at a roadside sign declaring "EGGS" however as we had lost our way (doggone GPS) and ended up on a road called "Desolation Trail".

Anyway, I didn't break the news that we were stopping at these pickups till the way home, and he just looked at me and said, "Really? Really? Even on a vacation to see our new grandaughter you are obsessed with eggs...unbelievable." Hey, ya gotta do what you gotta do.

Here's a quick peek at our lovely Celeste Margaret, born July 29. 7 lbs 8 oz of perfection.

What a beautiful granddaughter!! She is precious!!

Lots of wind and rain but no damage so no complaints. I've been working on my boat, turning a Missouri side console bass fishing boat into a front console boat better suited to Michigan steelhead fishing. It's been a aggravating project but I'll only have about $8000 invested instead of the $28000 that a new one would cost.

I recently build a chicken coop for a elderly couple and now I am trying to locate some chickens for them. If anyone has any pullets or hens for sale please contact me.

2 campers overturned by a wind gust on the Mackinac Bridge tied traffic up in both directions for hours. Power outage did not help either. Then later a couple driving across the bridge stopped their car to TAKE PICTURES no less and caused another crash

Cute kids, Glamka and Stacy both :)

Hi Grammi and Opa :)
I do have a few pullets but it would be a looong trip to pick them up.

I've got a couple of pullets, and cockrels to go. Especially cockrels!!! One Speckled Sussex, a couple or white Chanteclers, and Marans/Ameraucana cross olive egger cockrels. Not to mention the two EE cockrels. It will be freezer camp for some, but homes would be nicer. Mary

WOW!!! they stopped on the bridge itself to take pictures?? I think I might have thrown them off the bridge for taking selfies there. Besides, the ferry companies have a bunch of ferry runs where they detour to go under the bridge for some photo opts there. Heck, yesterday Sheplers' had a proposal happen right when they were under the bridge.

from sheplers' Facebook website. no, not me and Amy.

Hey, all! Is there anyone here from the Shiawassee County area?! I have 2 bantam cockerels that I need to re-home - one is a Golden Laced Sebright and the other an Old English Game. They're both about 4 months old and have been picking on my in-laws hens and they want them gone (our chickens all share a coop). If anyone knows of any farms that would be willing to re-home or if anyone would be willing to take the boys, please, let me know!
