Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

Everyone getting ready for the winter storm? Be funny (and nice) if all this fuss was for nothing and the storm misses us. Has happened before!

Going on a bus trip to Chicago tomorrow. Thought they would cancel but so far it's still on. Two granddaughters and my oldest daughter is coming along. Hope we survive!!

Hoping it's weather forecaster shock and awe drama...but ya never know, but I hope for your sake it's a miscast.
I'm counting on that whatever does fall, it'll all melt within days, ground here is still soft and warmish.

Opa, that sound very scary. I have ridden in the mountains before and when you get above the treeline the trail gets narrow. I have a few time gotten into a tangle involving horses that only a good knife got me out of.

Snow? About time. Have fun in the Windy City!

It's a fact deer numbers are down - fact. I see less on my land as well. Used to be some bruisers tearing up the trees right at the house now we're down to a few junior bucks and does tap dancing around the fringe. I ran into a buddy at Meier's tonight that said we should not be shooting bucks less than 3 points per side, nor does. He feels with the disease, etc., nature needs to recoup it's losses somehow. He said there may be only a one buck tag next year. Of course where you live in this state makes a difference. I remember years ago a no doe and one buck ony law (in another state) and it brought numbers back. The antler point regulation is a new idea that some feel will help. My concern is that any viable buck can cover a doe so where do you draw the line - why a APR?

I was having a similar conversation...... we are doing this to ourselves. We should probably all just stop hunting for 2-3 years and that would have a dramatic difference. At least the insurance company's are happy.

Sam....... So glad your son, and the mule are ok. You did a great job raising your kids!

Raz did you find anyone to help you out?
