Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

Well I got to see part of what is in the court file. I don't get a copy...just get to look quickly.

There is a photo of the migrating mallards that were in the front yard. Plus a letter from the neighbor that reads like a third grader tattling on the other kids. This should be laughed out of court but apparently if you go to church with the judge you get special consideration.
You should be getting a full on copy of what they have. It's not like it's that expensive to print a copy of that file on the copying machine.

I know that I'm legally entitled to full copies of what they have. But...

The best I got from the appointed attorney is that he will review what is in the file and let me know what is there. He wants to come to my house soon to compare the property to what is on the list. I hope I can have a few third party witnesses here at the time. I'm not sure I completely trust someone hired by the judge. This used to be a nice town to live in.

Said it years ago RaZ, you need to move, or hope through attrition, the appointed lords of Garden City are replaced with friendlier overseers. Sounds about like most "cities" in Michigan though - live downtown and get hassled, move to the outskirts and, with luck, left alone..

Been so busy with farming I can't even think about catching up...hope all my friends on here are having a great summer!

Hi all,
I'm in SE Michigan. I'm trying to rehome 5 Ancona ducks -2 male, 3 female. (2 black, 2 chocolate, 1 lavender). Very friendly, close-knit group. They free range on my 1acre property (and my neighbor's yard). They have access to a pond at the back of the house and go out every day and return late in afternoon like clock work. I get 2 eggs a day. Drakes are 1.5 years old, 2 girls are 2 years old and the other one is 3.
Eggs are wonderful and shells are hard without any supplements. Raised on Armada feed.

Main reasons for rehoming is our young dog chases them which is a shame because our old dog is fine with them. Plus travel has increased for my my husbands job and my own so caring for the flock has become difficult.

I'm willing to drop off up to 2 hours, or meet half way and pick up is fine, of course. Pics to follow.

Quote: Straw and/or hay can get nasty if too thick and it's gets wet....ramial wood chips work way better at 'eating' up the ammonia/nitrogen.
I do use straw in the run, especially on ice/snow, and also mud/muck..... but only a very thin layer at a time.
Of course you need to address any drainage issues too, standing water is hard to deal with.
