I remember when they were all the rage.Last night I found one of my old original uggo hens in the nest box. She passed away sometime during the day and was still a little warm when I found her. She was an ugly old girl, but I'll miss her.

Hi Everyone!
I'm new here but just discovered this Michigan thread so I thought I'd introduce myself. In a few weeks I'll be raising my first set of chicks. I did have 6 grown chickens (that were given to us along with a coop) last year so I've had a bit of experience with them at least. I totally grew to love it and love them! We ended up butchering them in November though so I miss them and am excited to start with a new flock mid-February.
Does anyone else here live in West Michigan (west of Grand Rapids)?
Welcome! I work in Grand Rapids but live an hour north of there.
I'm in Pierson. I'm not on BYC much.
Congrats! The ladies were picked up last night. The ducks will go this evening. I'll likely have a coop/run for sale soon if anyone is interested.
Think we're just about to say screw it and just go on down to the court house.![]()
