The plan today was to move the brooder chicks out to the new coop. That plan actually happened. The problem is that a batch of new chicks followed me home from TSC. One set out of the house and another one in.

PS I too visited TSC, but I've already got so many chicks, it was easy to walk past those cute little guys.

Yes, I know. That's why the grow pen is short and not wall-to-wall. I'll have room to slide it around. I should be doing some of that today if the rain holds off.

TSC has chicks again?? Boy does that make me glad that I went to Family Farm and Home today to get a new nipple waterer for my girls. The old one seems to be leaking more and the little plug in the lid at the top is cracked a little now. Plus this one has feet so that you can place the bucket on a flat surface without jabbing the nipples in. Gotta be an easier solution than always trying to have a couple of bricks nearby to have them there to hold up the bucket up off its nipples.

Got some more rain here today. Really do need some more, but not a bad idea to get a couple of little dust cutters to help soften up the ground a little first.

They did here at the Bad Axe TSC. Ducks too. I had a coupon to use and needed feed for the dogs, cats, birds, and fencing material. The chicks were a surprise to me. They tell me that chicks will be coming every week until September. I may need adult supervision.

We've had enough rain here that I've been able to do some grading around the old homestead. Spent a couple of hours on the tractor getting a decent grade from the house to the garage. Things are shaping up around here. Still a ton of work to be done. Any volunteers want to help?
