Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

All of us who ever met Granny will surely miss her. A wonderful lady.

Received 17 eggs today. Pretty good output from 20 young hens.
My local TSC had chicks...even buff orps. I looked and boldly walked away. I did find it funny that they had the brooders set inside a kennel type structure. Last year they were just behind some stock gates. I wonder if customers were shop lifting chicks.

Anyway, I hope all have a good day.

I got 13 from 17....need more customer, or fewer birds.
Had a chat with the mill guy today, he might try and help sell some chicks for me,
that guy has the gift of gab...hope he wasn't bullshitting me.

TSC trip today too, chicks and ducks and CX...also in a 'kennel' which was actually a large chicken run. Staff thinks it might work good for keeping peoples hands out, unless they can't sell enough to make room for the next batch, they don't care for chick days..cant blame them. I had no trouble resisting chicks, but then I've always mostly hatched my own.

I had the same feeling at my local FF&H. They had Plymouth Blue Rocks. Unfortunately I am not set up right now for chicks, plus going out of town for the weekend. Hopefully they will have some more in a month.

Ours only has the run of the mill chicks... I'll have to find a supplier for what I want too, but I'll worry about that next spring.

Got a call into a nature center that has raptors.
They might take male chicks for feed. :fl
My BCMxCCL OE's are sex linked and I can only eat so many cockerels.
