Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

Hi guys!
I caved and bought 4 chicks for $4 @ TSC, they said they didn't know what they were. I believe they are easter or oliveggers... they have the olive colored legs - but OMG they were so fluffy! LOL! They looked really blue under the lights - till I opened the box at home. Thats ok, I wanted a few more for the new batch. Going to try another place to see if they have anything.

Chicken math got me today! Took the day off of work. Ended up getting 4 more chicks and moved my big brooder into the corner of my living room. I now have 8 chicks in my house! What was I thinking? Oh yea I know they're soooooo cute and they were only a dollar each.

Raining again here today, not so bad as S-M-Tu tho.

Been trying to break a broody, but she keeps going back and have decided to set up the partition wall and give her some eggs. Was hard not to have new pullets on deck this year, and got a promise to buy 4 OE hens to free up some space.

Funny the woman who called about my poster at the feed mill was the same one who sold me my first flock, and took back the cock of that group when I wanted to replace him. Hope she follows thru. Small World Circles Back Around.

welcome back ijon.......... did you like our welcome home rain matt? LOL! Hopefully you didn't come home to any floods.

At least you got to spend some time in the warm sunny weather. No sympathy here!
Ha!! was thinking the same thing  even more so if you spent the whole winter down there!

At least the rain has stopped here, supposed to get some sun on SUNday.
Hopefully those 4 hens will be gone this weekend :fl .

The sun is trying to come out here.
All of the rivers and drains are over flowing and running fast. I wish I had a kayak. It is pretty cool to see the water gushing from the drain pipes of the farmers' fields. Some of them look like there is a pump pushing all that water. There is no pump, just the weight of all that water lying on/in the fields. I wonder if planting will be delayed.

Must be everyone is out enjoying the stunningly beautiful weather?

Got the both mowers running :yesss: never know with those old machines,
and the longest of grass cut before the deluges of rain coming next week.
Hen buyer cancelled, hopefully next weekend:fl
Broody coop to be setup tomorrow.

Anyone here have one of the battery operated string trimmers?
Recommendations?
