Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

Thanks for all the b-day wishes. Both here and PM. :love

I was out drilling post holes for an expanded chicken run and I broke a shear pin on the PTO. Expansion will have to wait now.

I found a missing little one. She was under the front porch, she has been gone for about 3 days now. She is back in the coop with the others. :clap

Going back out to switch attachments on the and do some more chores. Loving this warm weather!
Better the shear pin than twisting the whole dang PTO shaft. My brother and I managed to do that while drilling out some broken posts to replace them. we just kinda stood there rather impressed with it all when we saw just what in the world we did to it.

OMG! I feel so bad for that chicken! You imagine how scared crapless it was?? Did not look like it enjoyed it.
Had a good time camping. Weather was mild and the evenings were cool. My kind of no sweat weather!! Glad we went before the heat wave hits! The campground was really nice and the people there, employees and campers were super nice. Discovered 4 kittens living at their garbage can area. None of the employees seemed to care. We gave them dog food to eat and water. I called Animal Control and the guy was kind of rude. Said if we couldn't get close to them, what makes me think they can get them. Well, You are in the business of rescue and have the means. I called back and talked to him again and this time was a bit more helpful. Said they would come out and check it out. But their county does not handle cat calls because they are too many. But, because the kittens were in a place with a lot of people they would come. Later the owner of the campground came and said Animal Control was coming and bringing live traps. The next day I talked to the owner and they caught two of the four. I was a bit upset with them. If they had done something while the kittens were really young, they could have won their trust and gotten loving homes. Now, they're a bit older and chances are slim to get them tamed. Owner said she has a friend with a farm and bringing the kittens there to be barn cats. Better than living among the garbage and living under a shed. I guess....

Darn hummingbirds are eating me out of house and home. 5 pounds of sugar was rendered into nectar since the weekend. I'm now out of critter food until payday. :th

My first time broody hen decided that she resented being moved, and quit. Eggs in various stages of rot when candled tonight. Yuck!!!
Maybe another time...
It's just too warm; can't call it hot, considering temps elsewhere, but still not in my comfort zone.
Working tomorrow, in air conditioning, wonderful!

Feeding wild birds was at the top of my budget cut list when I 'retired'....it's expensive!
