Just found out we can get a third hen from our insurance! I only had to threaten to switch insurances and assure them that they would be for personal use.

@Folly's place no speckled sussex left then, I'm guessing? Do you know if @Candy442 does speckleds or different breeds? We thought it might be easier to introduce a new one if it's the same breed as the other two. Or maybe it doesn't really matter to them?

What's with the gaps down low?
Will it have large(12-18") roof overhang i s?

About 8". PB is about 33" from floor and 2' deep.

Ehhhh, can't remember how/why I picked 8", but it works well.

I put nests 2' from floor for my convenience, then roosts are higher also at a convenient height for me to clean and also grab birds off roost for exams.

Thanks!! It is being built in the shop and erected on site in pieces. The floor will be poured concrete so the gaps are temporary as I’m told. I’m not sure if they are trimming the bottom but good eye!

There will be overhangs that are 12” all the way around. The windows will be hinged from the top and flexible to remain open for ventilation. I will also have soffits that will be vented.
Poop boards, nesting boxes and Brooder area begin this week. I’m sure more questions to come and pics to follow.
