Crowing
Totally agree with you!The price of construction materials has soared, and sheds that previously would have been under $1000 are now much more expensive. It also makes building your own a lot more costly.

I did the same thing you did with a coop so dont be too hard on yourself. Is this for me or for Riss? If for me, that is the coop I bought and very disappointed for it to be so tiny. I have to see how I will build from that. Probably towards to other side where there is no opening door, I think. I have to re-asses it because it is not convincing. States is for up to 6 hens but no way I am putting 6 hens in that little place. I will leave them in the guest room for that matter, lol
On my way to see how in the world I get on a list for the stupid vaccine. I also have a place to check out. See you gals later.
My godmother’s sister lives in Rothbury! If you don’t mind, I will send her a message and see if she knows anyone that has a shed they are willing to part with or some pallets to get your compost started!! You never know what treasures are out there.Thank you. I wish had more land not to use but to comply with ordinances. I was hoping not just chickens but also a goat or 2. But for that I need to have 5 acres. Went to a place in Freemont but the coops are over 1k and no protection nor run. I think I need to be more thinker and begin working.
On the pallets, yes, sounds like a good idea and in the town of Hart, the ace can give me pallets. Will have to do it that way and spend the money on tools and a bit of materials. View attachment 2562525
Just got them out for a bit. They pecking the ground but watching me closely. I guess they don't want me to leave them. Will be back later from the main computer. Cell is too small.
Michelle, it is indeed what I needed to hear this morning. Was thinking of my drive back from Freemont and google drove me through the back roads. All I saw was farms and lands and so much beautiful country. I was praying this morning and saying how wonderful creation was made to the point of just a canvas of beauty where little details come together. My backyard does have an extension of that peace. But, I am going to interrupt it with chickens and a chicken coop,Beautiful spot to soak in nature.
Sure Michelle, I am all alone here. My neighbors are very nice. I had to go for throat surgery in December, a month after I moved, and they plowed my entrance while I was gone. I have cooked for them and still owe them tremendously because that was an act of love and can never repay. My godmother’s sister lives in Rothbury! Thank you Mary, I will do a search for coops. Also there are good ideas for hoop coops on this site, made with cattle panels. They can be made predator proof and tall enough to be user friendly, and take much less lumber to build.
Mary
Good neighbors are a huge blessing! I'm on a dead end road in the middle of nowhere, and there are four other houses near me. I have told all my neighbors that if they need help, I am here! If the $#!+ hits the fan, who will be here faster, the police, the fire department, an ambulance, or a neighbor? If you need help at 2am, pound on my door.My neighbors are very nice.
