The turkey buzzards have been back here, I've seen them cleaning up roadkill, a very good thing.
Just came in for a break, digging up those wild blackberries. Half done, and I WILL get them out! It's really too warm for how I'm dressed, but this week it's going to be warm and raining; wonderful, but this project needs to be done first. The nice plants buried there will have a chance to recover with the rain.
I can't remember a drier spring! the water table here is low for the season, we usually have a lot more water. And unfrozen ground in late March, amazing too.

Without going back to look all those posts over again, are you talking about an open Coop or an open run? I don't have any issues with an open run, but an open coop is probably not appropriate for this climate.

To me all three of those look like girls

Half open coop. I am only leaving 3'x2' open on the east side of the coop. No open run because I have eagles or hawks.

Green legs and a flat comb = Easter Egger. Phoebe has a single comb, EEs almost often have pea combs.

What's everyone got going on for Easter? My family is coming over. I'll be having my parents, brother, sister with her husband and 4 kids, then my uncle and cousin, and finally my grandma. Oh and can't forget the ducks even though they won't be joining us for dinner

Did get them some minnows for them to have fun with and eat and making them a nice Easter dinner for them to enjoy to give them a break from their regular boring old feed (mostly cause their feed hasn't shipped to the store yet)

They can join you for dinner one day and so do I. Love duck!

Very dry here too. I have my pallet boardwalk down but I don't need it. I'll leave it in place for a few more weeks, just in case. That and I'm lazy.

Oddly enough, all of the rivers and farm field drains are running high. I think I'll take the UTV to the small lake and see how high the water is.

I am done with the coop. Not finished but jeebers, it is as hot as in Florida. I cannot take the sun. So only the begining of one wall. Lost 2 hrs to drive to Muskegon to get bigger screws. Oh, well, here is what I got so far.

So, will I get colored eggs? Just curious

EEs usually will lay green eggs, but it's really anyone's guess, they could be tan or ???

It looks like buckthorn. Is it growing in a big clump?
Buckthorn is an invasive shrub

no, I have a picture when they were green when I first bough the house in November. I have been curious because I do not want my dog eating it and be harmful to her.

Could not find with the green on trees but they grow pretty tall, which reminds me that I need to cut that some and make them even.
