Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

Coop looks rather close to the walls of the run, best move it away a bit so you can get in there for siding and maintenance.
That is a great point. Never crossed my tiny mind, lol Thank you so much. Hope we can move it,lol He just showed me he cut an area for ventilation and air because it does get hot at nights.

Will you add some waterproof roofing with a good big overhang?
Was not thinking of waterproofing the coop but the roof of the run. And yes, overhang so the water and melting ice do not get back in like in the chicken run,lol
You are amazing! Thank you. Better go outside before he adds more stuff and becomes super heavy, lol

I still have work to do in the puter. Had to run to Walmart to get ink and paper, lol

Here is a picture of "JLo" at 3 weeks. They can fly fiercely already, lol

LOL Doc appointment done. Have to go back to walmart later on to get Mirolax for hub.

He said, no way in hell we can lift the duck pen nor move the run walls. He will put 2 4x4 in the middle to hold him if he needs to go up there, lol I tried, lol
Back to work.

not sure how you could put a waterproof roof on the run, the span is huge.
Just like he did the run. He put long 2x4's and on top the plastic corrugated roofing. But this time for sure, not the clear one. We thought would be nice to let sunlight in, but it is the worse. Llight and wateres do not mix and green mold come and it is very hot in those areas. Will go for the tan one and that is a lot better. Summer time, take the plastic wrap out and breeze goes right through it.

@1muttsfan yes. Hub made to big one on north and south of the coop.

He did the chicken run with 2x3 and it held the snow really good. It should be like a web on top to give it good solid support to the corrugated plastic or pvc panels. He can go on top of the pen if he needs to. Definitely not me,lol
I do not know if they are called rafters or not but he puts the long ones and then in between them, he puts shorter pieces from one to the other. Of course, he needs to put some straight down to hold them up. Those should be bigger in case he needs to go on the very top but he is doing his thing as usual. I can only give suggestions like always and then completely ignore me, typical male, lol

Home from Maine! Yay! I have come to HATE long road trips. And I didn't do any of the driving. Yes, DH drove the whole thing. Two days out, and two days back, about 1400 miles each way.

We only had one bad spot of traffic, yesterday in Massachusetts in the greater Boston area. About 2 hours of stop and go. The other delays were minor slowdowns. Starting at 5 am helps with that.

I'm glad we got some rain Saturday night; there's about 2" in the buckets sitting in the garden. I need to dig some potatoes and onions, and I'll be getting tomatoes soon too. I did pick a couple to ripen on the counter.

And, man, did I miss my chickens. We celebrated homecoming with a heel of bread. Bread is a rare, special occasion treat.

The wedding was nice. Our friend looked beautiful. So did her daughter (one of the bridesmaids), who is now a young lady. Our wedding gift was a set of DeWalt cordless tools: drill, driver, flashlight, sawzall, 2 batteries, and a charger. Come to find out, it was on their wish list. :)
