Heavy rayer for Mr Sam and everyone here. It snowed fiercely and the winds were brutal.
On another note, Pitbull hurt P3 again and she bleed under crest. Cornstarch did the tick. So, he went on time out for a day but Lovechikd gave him a run for the money. Pitbull just ran away. Do not know if he is avoiding confrontation with son or just Lovechild took over. Now, instead of protecting the girls, need to protect Pitbull, lol.
Quackies are growing and driving me crazy. The scream all day bloody murder for me to let them out. They fly around and then just sit in the snow. Some did some snowducking,lol they slide in the snow with their bellies. It is hilarious.

It was nice today, so drove to GR and went to 4 stores and could not get what I wanted to make pasteles. All the ones I made went bad when the freezer stopped working. Such a waste of gas and time.
Hub broke the 7gl waterer I had at the ducks. I put the tab on the wall so it would not freeze and be easier. Well, he went early this morning and thought it was frozen in place and ruined it with the pliers,lol He could had ask me but nope! He is just smart that way. So on my way back, stopped at FFH and got another one. The 3gls is not enough for half a day. They use about 12gls a day.

All the chickens are turning in by 430pm or so. Ducks get bored without the mischievous chickens, so the go all back to their run until I put them inside their house at night. The automatic door is great for the mornings. They come out and eat until I go out to check on the water after I leave it full to the top at night.

BP went up because stopped a med due to the dizziness. Start it again and dizziness is back. My next appt is on December 8th.
I guess that covers about much of what is going on around here.

The bird feeders are busy. Even the crows are coming in. They seem extra shiny black against the snow. I need to work up the ambition to dig out my snow suit and go out to mess with the wood. Also change the water founts and check for eggs. Don't want those things to freeze. It's a balmy 23 degrees with a wind chill of 13. Hope you all are warm and happy.
BTW a local school won their football playoff yesterday against Iron Mountain. Now they go to Ford Field in Detroit for the Division Championship. Go Bearcats!

I was rooting for my local team (IM)..they had a very good season and all worked hard. Hope your team does well!

Several years ago, we had a neighbor next door who was from Detroit, and this was his "weekend getaway spot." He asked who plowed back here in the winter, and I said that we all kind of did it; my hubby would hit it with the snow thrower, another neighbor had a Kubota.

The next door neighbor said, "Well, can't you get someone out her to plow?" I told him it would be $70-80 a trip, easily. He didn't think he'd need 4 wheel drive either, until he got stuck.

He also laughed when one of the kids left the basement door open when they went back to Detroit. They burned up their entire tank of propane. Pipes froze, water damage... Sure, that would be funny to me too. SMH.

No, they don't live out here anymore.

We have a city slicker hot shot rich guy as neighbor in a dinky UP backwoods town where we have a cabin (aka camp) on the lake. Over the years this guy has constantly tried to get everyone (all 12 of us neighbors who are all Yoopers, and somehow related) on board for various city crap…HOA (never), yearly road repair so his Prius doesn’t bottom out (lol), roadside brush trimming (because…it’s a scary forrest), snow removal (on a nonplowed county road that averages 240 inches a year), a lake community electric car charging station (), the banning of motors of all types on the lake, ban gas generators (he prob prefers electric), ban sail boats bc it scares the loons…I can’t make this stuff up!
But the best idea this wingnut had was for residents to hire his friend to construct an interconnected series of walking or biking paths along the lake shore of all of our private lots so everyones’ friends and family could enjoy them..
No one likes this guy.
Dude, it is the UP, We are 2 miles off the road, on a two-track logging road literally in the middle of nowhere. You were passed by 3 side-by-sides on the road to your camp and one of them stopped to drink a busch lite bc he was thirsty after leaving da bar 5 miles out!

Yikes! be careful with that BP. You sound sensitive to the med. keep hydrated.

I remember reading an article that took place somewhere in the UP. The interviewer/writer asked the interviewee, wasn't he worried about word getting out about this place, and it being overrun with "outsiders?" The guy answered, "Nope. -40 temps in the winter tend to keep the riffraff out."

Lol..it’s true, and the snow is ridiculous! Hubs ‘evacuated’ last Thursday. No plows go down our road (keeps the riff raff out ).

There is simply no way to keep that road open so no one lives there yr round. Prius guy wouldn’t stand a chance; snow drifts can get 3-4 ft in that area. We usually snowshoe or ski in 2x in winter to clear the roof.

When I went into work on Saturday am there was 8" of unplowed snow on the roads, which by 1:00 in the afternoon when I went home had increase to a foot and still not been plowed. If that's going to bother you, you definitely don't belong up here. Saw my first two snowmobilers, earliest I've ever seen them.
