Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

Hey everyone it’s been another while since I’ve been on. Oh no on the avian influenza! Hoping everyone’s birds stay healthy and safe! I’m currently holding a very beat up bloody lonely shivering rooster. He’s decided he just wants to snuggle up to me all night. He’s settled down roosting on my arm. The two big cockerels teamed up on him im pretty sure. 😕😭

It has been kind of crazy for the last week or so.
The township had a bunch of trees cut down at the transfer station (dump). The guy who runs it saved the trees for me. So I've been busy hauling wood out of there. Pictures below show what I have dragged home so far. There is another wagon load there that I can get on Sunday. I just need to free up the trailer and wagon beforehand. At least I have the weekend off to work on the loads I already have. Lots to cut, split, and stack.

I have a bit of urgency to get things done quickly....I am scheduled for shoulder surgery on April 25 with elbow surgery 2 weeks after. I could be out of commission for 6 weeks or so. Or it could be limited use depending on how the procedure goes. I'm crossing my fingers for the limited restrictions.

That's a huge haul! You'll be busy cutting for awhile.
And it's no small task to get it all cut and split. We use on average 4-5 cords a year to heat the house.

Hello y’all. How is everyone? Im doing better, my rib still is uncomfortable but slowly healing I think. It seems to slide around when I do a repetitive movement like scooping horse grain though. I plan to go to my chiropractor again on Tuesday. I’m ready for summer I’ll say that 😂 last night I went to spread a load of horse manure in the corn field, like the farmer said we could, and the tractor kept quitting on me. It’s had reduced power for a while, and my brother who is mechanic, has done a fuel filter and has been meaning to look into it further but hasn’t had a chance yet. Not only that but the spreader keeps throwing the chain off the sprocket and then jamming the turner and locking up the whole axle which kills the tractor. I finally got it running again but it was a fight, and I couldn’t feel my hands after. 😂🤦‍♀️
