I have a couple of logs, a bouncy bridge, a roost, two waterers, and a dog crate in there. I think you're right, though. I need more perchable items in the run, I have been considering that and also little perches up the sides somehow. Thank you!
I found a round cable roll in a trash bin and I added it to the main run. Weird enough when they are all disappeared, they are in sections under the coop, lol

Randy, you may need to go to a wound specialist. I don't know if you remember Nancy Hutson? Use to come to CS with her husband. Anyway, her husband had a wound that would not heal, I mean for a very long time. Finally had to go to the specialist to get it healed.
Chicken fairy, I put in a saw horse for my pullets when they went into the coop. High enough to feel safe and away from the big girls. I have a couple of saw horses in the run too, so they can get away from the pecking.
Have a good day...

I want to build some perching things to take advantage of the vertical space in my run, since I can't enlarge the run.

The dividing fence is coming down this week, so I want to put perches in today or tomorrow.

...I found square freezer boxes and lids at an estate sale a few weeks ago. When I got them home, I started wondering what kind of plastic they were. They look just like the kind everyone used in the seventies. What do you think? We ate a lot of food from that kind and apparently survived well enough but...
I decided to try putting the food in ziplock bags then putting the bags into the freezer boxes. Hopefully, that will get me both safer plastic in contact with the food and easier management of freezer contents.

Hi lovelies 💓!
I have a full house again tonight but the brown leghorns decided to go over the cage and the buckeyes followed them I left them be. So far the leghorns are letting the white babies be next to them with no pecking so far.
I do have a question. They have oyster shells available but P2 has been for the past 3 days getting on the roost to lay her egg and its soft and brakes. Is there someti need to worry about or will she get back to laying on the nest boxes one day?
