Two massasagua were caught on video at Matthaei Botanical Gardens. https://vimeo.com/48551532

Caught all right! LOL!

Green... I'd have your DH start peeing all over the place... LOL. I read somewhere that the DH did that and it was discouraging. LOL, I have no Idea if it is really true... BUT at least it'll give him an excuse to be a guy. HAHAHA

I am thinking, supervised outings till you get fencing around the main part of the yard where they chickens are?

LOL, If my DH peed all over the yard I'd be discouraged too! I'd keep my birds penned up for a few days....

What a beautiful day. Hope everyone has a chance to enjoy it.
Last time I was actually on here I was in the process of re homing my rooster Shelby....the EE I accidentally got from Theron. I was thinking he was going to end up in the crock pot when my cousins buddy, who is a chicken farmer was more than happy to take him. He has about 80 hens and 3 other roosters. Needless to say Mr. Shelby has a good home and is the dominant Roo.....I figured he would be because of his size.

DH had to bring nephew into dr's last month for an infected stye (usually caused by staph), the dr suggested green tea for it's antibacterial properties! I have also heard that it works on pink-eye just as good as prescription medication, so that's what i would aim for.

Makes me wonder if taping a tea bag to a hen's foot would be helpful for bumblefoot...........hmmmm.
Her eye is still swollen and I'm gonna apply the tea bag again later this afternoon. I put her in the chicken tractor next to the pen....safe, sound and still sociable.DH was being funny and said we should make her a pirates patch for her. If I knew she'd keep it on and not irritate the eye more by trying to get it off I'd do it. Just might do so and hold her on my lap. Gets pretty boring holding it to the eye.

Not chicken related, but MI related.........
I found this article while surfing around for a MI map showing where the agriculture zones were (I still can't find a map showing where the chickens will be allowed per zoning)
http://www.woodtv.com/dpp/news/michigan/auction-planned-of-Michigan-oil-and-gas-lease-rights

It appears that the oil companies are buying rights to state lands, then once they figure out where there may be oil they look to the land around them that they could tap. Holy pollution!
In muskegon co., where i was initially searching for an ag map, there are hundreds of abandoned oil and gas wells, contaminating a whole bunch of well water and land! :( There was even an experimental drill hole over by me in Ravenna that wasn't used, but still may have blown contamination...........I may have to rethink where i go house-hunting.

M sue, i think the dr said 10 minutes at a time, i threw away the papers already.................
he he he
If you make a pirate patch, i want to see pics! lol

So... All of my showgirls have streamers... All are roos
Who wants a free showgirl roo? I got 2 white and 1 black!!! 23 weeks!!!

This one was suspected to a hen, but it has streamers and crows...

Ewwww on the snakes.... I known they do a lot of good, but they give me the heebie jeebies... I am doing a good job of acting like I'm cool with them because I do not want my 5 yr old to know that they scare me. I am sure that he would have lots of fun with this fact when he got a bit older!

Is there any other kind of showgirl other than a rooster?

seems like i always see roosters, and the odd hen out seems to be intent on brooding herself to death creating more!
