Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

Oh goodness no! You couldn't snicker out loud! (How did you keep your eyes from smiling? Mine would have given me away and been the end of me, lol)

Funny how some people with egg allergies can ONLY eat duck eggs and to others they are pure poison!

BF and I tried culling/ processing for the first time... Processing was a mess... I guess it would have been easier if someone was standing there telling me what to do play by play...

They still "hurrrrr" if you squeeze them a little after the head is removed.
Black skinned chickens are black all the way through.
The insides are stuck in there pretty darn good.
Feathers stick to everything.

I DID TELL YOU!! I told you that when you said you were going to process one, that it was going to be black all the way through! SO, you just didn't listen. LOL, I found that out when Roger got killed. Yeah... ALL THE WAY THROUGH!

Halloween celebrations may seem a bit premature, but I would reckon it has something to do with the holiday landing on a Wednesday this year. Weather certainly plays another part, you never quite know when it will turn sour, so many prefer to do the parties early when the leaves are turning and it's not too cold.

not for the campgrounds... many of them want to close up for the season before everything starts to freeze etc.

Good Morning everyone!

We had a wonderful weekend- Saturday we drove out to Robins, had a great time and she fed us great. I came home with more Uggos and a serama and an OEGB.

She has such a nice place, and her chickens and critters are wonderful. She has SO much work to do every day, she is my hero. I will never be able to complain about going out in the cold to care for my ONE coop again without feeling guilty.

Absolutely love her horses and sheep and peacocks and chickens and turkey and quail...and what am I forgetting? Ah, sabertooth tigers.

I LOVE my new little Chicken Little and Bird. They are settling in very well- the baby Uggos are still under a heat lamp so they are seperated, but Bird and Chicken Little discovered the flower garden and the falling leaves. Yesterday was very relaxing with the chickens out in the yard.

However now I have a cold- again. Nice to go back to work with a stuffed head-----NOT.

BYFM-

Hope you all have a wonderful day!
