Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

I have a feeling that Sam will read this in the morning and wonder if y'all hit your heads, or if he's stumbled onto some sort of Looney chicken thread. Lol! Silkies in sweaters... That I have to see.

Sam, you always make me laugh..thank you for that.
I have not even read the other posts- yours was the first one I saw and made me laugh. No better way to start the day.

Oh my goodness, chicken sweaters and all sorts of other talk, you guys are chatty. :)

I was looking over my chicks last night and they are getting so very big, at this point it is pretty obvious that I have about 14 isa browns, 10 white leghorns, 4 EEs and of course I know the 6 black cochins, but the rest are a variation of black and I am not sure what kind they are, probably ones that lay dark brown eggs, so that should narrow it down a bit.

But for wanting a rainbow, I am pretty excited about the white leghorns, since everyone says they are such awesome dependable layers, after waiting and waiting for eggs, I just want to be able to go out and collect a bunch of eggs.

It will be so fun when they start laying, soon they will go into the big girl coop, separated from the big girls of course, but still, they are growing up.

Did you know they make saddles for chickens with leash attachments??? I so wanna walk down the street with a chicken on a leash. lol.. I had a cat i trained once to walk like a dog, instead of wandering. It would be fun to see the shocked expressions!

They sell those. Try birdwearonline.com :)

This has been a really nice fall season so far.

Tomorrow DH and I are going to the Fall festival at Hidden Lake Botanical Gardens. We love going there at least once or twice a year! Conifers and pines are my favorite trees and they have a ton of different trees at the garden.

When my husband sees me looking in on the BYC page, he asks what the crazy chicken people are up to. I've said BYC is fun, and this thread is often funny, supportive, and educational, but there's not a lot of crazy here.
I am not going to let him see the silkie sweaters.

I LOVE them. Off of the absurdity scale!
