I never had problems with flipping it over. My problem was after it was upright. The plug-in wouldn't fit right and it overflowed the catch pan. I had one last winter; after 2 months of either no water or ice, I returned it. I bought a bird bath heater and put it in a 5-gallon bucket. no problem there. I might buy one of the bottom heaters for my metal waters to see if that's any better.

I will post one in a little bit- Mom the Taxi is in overdrive... Maybe someone quicker can help?

The waterer has a red base and white top, and stands about a foot and a half off the ground. There is a black plug underneath the base. You have to make sure the tabs on the top align properly with the slots on the base. Fill it only a little ways untill you get the hang of the flip, as Opa detailed. Once you have it figured out, you will wonder how you ever had a problem!

Me too! I googled them last year and found a place that had them really cheap and ordered several. I just fill them up and I am done. I did not like the idea of getting drenched when it was freezing outside!

Just got back from Fowl Fest----ran into MJ and Zephyr right as we were leaving. Also got to meet Krisrose, chickflick, bluemoon and Opa. MJ has her camera, so I am sure she will add pics later on. Littlest DD fell in total love with the bantam call gray ducks----they were too cute!!!!!!

Granny, Bluemoon and I went to Fowl Fest and it wa quite enjoyable. Believe it or not I spent quite a lot of time around the sale birds and didn't buy any. I even took 2 cages with me just in cae I couldn't resist the allure. Maybe it was because no one wa waving bras.

I couldn't resist and bought 2 naked necks, 1 mille fleur D'Ucclle and one Polish. Love them! I did get to see Sam (Opa). Don't think he remembered me

I wouldn't remember me either! I'm kinda quiet. At the August meet-up hubby spoke mostly to Sam. Gotta run! Have a great day everyone!

No way would I forget a pretty lady who also likes chicken. Now remembering your name is another story. I'm starting to suffer from CRS and for the life of me I couldn't remember your name. It's rather embarassing, so I'm learning to smile a lot. Sorry. I did sure enjoy talking with your husband at Chicken Stock and I can't remember his name either.
