So sorry to hear about your sister Wylie. My best thoughts go out for her.

I haven't had a broody yet.

I'm hoping the silke we have may go broody someday. She still hasn't laid an egg yet. I am beginning to think she is doing it on purpose now.

Well, I got all the rust deposits out of my hair, and it is back to it's normal color. I did something that I haven't done in years, and decided to let her cut some long bangs. I like them, but I'm sure I'll change my mind again, and grow them back out.

That's why she cut them long and to the side. She figured I'd change my mind later.

I'm just glad I found a good hairdresser again, who doesn't try to convince me to cut a bob.

Thanks for the birthday wishes!
Jury duty amounted to me sitting for five hours in a large room, then being told I could go home. Watched Men in Black.
Then went and spent twenty dollars at the casino in about ten minutes, tops. Then left. Went to Secretary of State, spent over a hundred dollars there- got a tiny sticker as a reward. lol
Had lunch with my hubby.

Got an email today from TSC that said CHICKS HAVE ARRIVED. I called them- nope, northern states get them the week of the 30th. BUT THEY are getting turkeys in tomorrow.
Minimum is six.
I want a turkey really really bad. Last year Miss Jayne had me soooo close to convinced that I had to have them.
BUT where I live, my chickens are illegal. I just know a big tom flying to the roof top would make one of my neighbors fall over dead and then they would get me not only for having illegal fowl, but for manslaughter as well.
*sigh* So, I shall avoid going to buy baby turkeys.

From my husband, no ducks or geese. I agree they are really cute when they are little, not as fond of them all grown up though myself. Have been chased to many times by the geese at our local dairy farm. But the kids are working on Dad for the ducks.

Ah, Dh is no fun!!

geese! They are not for the faint hearted, but I love their little attitudes!! I call their bluff!

Just curious, how many ladies here on the Michigan site crochet and like crocheted items. Granny has been crocheting like crazy and occasionally I have to read a pattern for her. Sl st across to center of next ch-t sp, (ch 5, sc in next ch-5 sp) twice, ch 3, *2dc in next dc, dc, dec, in 2 2 dc. Good lord, I go crazy if had to read that all day. She has been crocheting roses for the raffle at Chickenstock and now has started a 17" round pineapple pattern doily she wants to give as well. It would be interesting to know just how many knots go into something like that. Making these and the anticipation of donating them to Chickenstock certainly gives her a lot of joy.

Hi Opa,

I'm a crafting junky. I crochet, knit, sew, cross stich, bead, etc.. The fiber art are my first love though. It very rare that I do not have something being crocheted or knitted. My mom and grandma were the same way. It's a very soothing way to relax after a hard day.

I crochet like crazy, trying to keep these arthritic fingers going. I have several afaghans in the cedar chest, I have given most of them away. If I can't come , I might send one to you Opa to use for Chicken Stock.

I wish I knew how to crochet or knit, but I weave baskets if that counts for being crafty.

I found out yesterday I can get fertile turkey eggs from MSU for 7.00 a dozen.

Now I just need to take a day off work to get some - their hours coincide with mine (7:30 - 4:30 ish) Now I'm off to teach those youngsters some science. Hope the weather is nice today and everyone has a good one.

I wish I could do crochet or knit- I really do think I lack the patience required though.

Where is everyone this morning? I have the day off to catch up on all the chores I missed yesterday due to my government obligations!
I have a pip in the incubator- soon my little Billie Idol impersonator will not be alone. Friendliest little chick I have ever owned, though.

AND- now that I read about the muscovy ban in place at the end of the month, I am going to hatch some of those asap- just because I hate being told I cannot do something.

Sam! I owe you a cup of coffee- the second pot is on- help yourself.

Good morning Everyone,

I do counted cross stitch, embroidery, draw, pencil and ink, also paint, canvas and murals. I design and do my own wood cut outs. I also sew. Clothes and dolls.

If someone could give me some ideas of what they would like to see donated to Chickenstock I could work on a few items.
