Id be real happy to see a show girl pullet with my name on it at Chicken Stock....

Hello Friends,

Boy did I have a treat today! I picked up Miss Jayne and we went over to Mr. and Mrs. Chickendad for the afternoon. She met us with the most wonderful brownies and coffee! I picked up my beautiful little frizzle cochin and one of the "Silly Auracana Sisters"! We also got to meet the famous "Barbara" Kathy writes so well about. They are such nice people and gracious hosts. We talked for a long time and it felt like we had known each other for longer than today. BYC'ers are the best! Thank you so much, Kathy and Harvey!

SweeChee, that is a lovely coop! I am sure your chickens will be happy in it. You also have a nice looking husband

Oopsy, those coops look very nice.
CATRAY, sounds like you had a wonderful day. Please tell Miss Jayne that we miss seeing her here.

I had a gentleman stop by yesterday. I had given him a phoenix pair last fall that he really liked and he told me that he had an extra chicken breeds book he would give to me. I had forgotten all about it and then he brought the book yesterday. It is a wonderful book "Storey's Guide to Poultry Breeds". He wants to get another Phoenix rooster as his had gotten killed.

Today's Trivia Question??

Drum roll please...........

Is this possum playing "possum" or did my service dog search it out as it was trying to get into Emily's barn tonight?? (not a very good picture as it was after dark)

I tried my hardest to get it out of the paddock. I got a metal fence post and was poking it to leave, it jumped up and snapped at me and thats all it took. Honest, I am NOT touching it to see if its alive or not. We'll know in the morning if its gone.

You'd think these critters, knowing I have 7 huge dogs here, they would even enter the property. Poor thing.

If anyone wants vorwerk, spangled hamburg, and blue orpington bantam eggs(over 30) for hatching they're yours. All I want for them is that you bring two of the chicks (not cockerels) to Chickenstock so we can use them as prizes.

Hello everyone. If there are any 4-H or FFA kids who are in need of birds for projects, I do have 3 large fowl chickens that would make rather nice show prospects. I have 3 large fowl chickens - 2 Black Sumatra pullets and 1 Dark Cornish hen. You must pick up the birds, no shipping. I live in Lenawee County. If you are interested please email me @ [email protected].

7961: If you were closer and wanted to sell her outright, I'd take that gorgeous Cornish hen off your hands.

I have a young dark Cornish pullet growing out and she'd be a great companion for her.

Hope everyone enjoys their day. I'm headed out to build yet another tractor. Just finished up another permanent, secure, outdoor pen for my colombian cochins yesterday. Now to get my frizzled Polish their own outdoor pen and I'll be satisfied. Then I can move on to building grow out pens for the blue-million chicks I'm raising up for my breeders.

Geez...does the work never end?

But it's definitely all good.

Good Morning!!

Thank you all for your wonderful comments on our coop...glad it's finally done! I hope my daughters have many fond/funny chicken memories & stories to tell their own children.

They always ask me to tell them about my adventures when I used to go to Arkansas to visit my grandmother who had chickens, geese, peacocks...(everything, but what I really wanted...horses!). Many happy memories (even without the horses).

Now on to the next projects...getting vegetable garden planted, weed flower gardens, spring cleaning.....
