Another new member of the Michigan flock here.

Have been reading the forum every day and learning lots for several weeks now.

I have 4 B.O. that are laying almost every day for me even in the coldest weather. Like most folks, I can't wait for the weather to get warmer so I can get more chickens!

Hi Marli

....and I might add, some are crazier than others.

I would watch out, Steve. Kristin is not a huggy type person. I'd watch my back, she's up to something. I know she sent it to Wyn cuz she wants more chickens, so she's softening her up, but, don't know what she has planned for Steve! Not that you're not a nice person, Wyn. But if you know Kristin like I know Kristin......

there is some good news in the big coop...i have another new layer! another leghorn. and there was a sex link going in and out of the nests like she wanted to go in but didn't know why.

Lord Wellington, the little bantam cockerel stood by them and cheered them on the whole time!

I guess you would do anything to hug a good looking man! I'll have to tell "Handy Dick" that. You sure never gave him a hug...at least not when I was around!

I got to sneak out to the coops (all the babies are sleeping) and somebody in the little coop had an egg fart! Woo Hoo! That means they are getting closer to layin'!

Gotta go make some venison chili for dinner before they all get up again!

In our family we have this thing when we all get together, we give hugs when we first meet and when we leave, even the guys do. When a newcomer (like my sons girlfriends or nephews girlfriends) comes into the family, after we get to know them and if I like them....they have no choice, they get hugs.

My best friend and I always give each other a hug...not cheek to cheek type of thing, but a solid embrace. I'm sure it looks funny, and some may find it odd, but I'm secure in my masculinity.

M_J - yeppers, those bagels looked awesome! GOOD JOB!

Steve, I come from a family of huggers, too. My DH did not. He's comforable hugging me, his daughters, and that's about it. He finds it odd when I hug friends or my brothers. I find it sad that he finds it odd. But, I'll keep him anyway...he's an EXCELLENT coop builder! BHAAHAH!

What is odd in my family, I can tell my sons I love them, I can also tell my brothers and nephews. I can tell my dad....but he can not say I love you back, we know he does. He'll say Yep, or OK....but he can not say it. He can pass out the hugs with the best of us.....but like the dad in the movie 8 seconds he has never said "I love you"
