Nancy, the dark one is a wellie egg. You have such a nice assortment of colors. In the dark blue bar on the right it says Delete Multiply...click on that and then click on e mails you want deleted.

SUCCESS!!!

After several days of trying to get the cayugas to go to bed on their own, Opie did it on his own...and in the new coop too!! I thought for sure Sadie would follow him but she needed a little of my direction. They'll be SO much happier in there!! No chicken problems at bedtime either!!! I'm one happy gal tonight!!!

WE got RAIN!!!!!

But paid a price for it in lost sleep. The electricity messed around for quite a while before it finally went out....with our hard wired smoke alarms and plugged in cell phones bleeping and buzzing with every blink in the electric grid. Then the same thing all over again while they worked on the lines. But it was back on by morning!! The only damage was our Jerusalem Artichokes blown over and uprooted.

Trixie has her chicks outside in the flowerbeds this morning for the first time. So cute. It's always so amazing to me to see a first-time broody knowing what to do with those babies.

Good afternoon everyone. I am so happy it is Friday today. I actually get to be home 3 whole days with my husband. He usually has to go into work on the weekends. Too bad we have so much to do this weekend. Groceries, canning speghitti sauce, a trip to a buffalo ranch, little cousins coming to spend the night Saturday, football practice, school shopping for shoes and backpacks. It sure would be nice not have anything to do one weekend.

I'm looking for a feed supplier/grain elevator that stocks chicken feed in the Livingston County area. My birds are going through over 200 lbs a week and I'd like to find a local supplier that mixes ther own feed, rather than constantly purchasing 50 lb bags of Purina. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Thanks!

Well, this is it, this is the night my little call ducklings spend their first night with the chickens and big cayugas. Not that there isn't enough room, there's MORE than enough. I have had them on the porch for 5 weeks now and I'm used to going out there 10x or more a day to hold them, play with them, feed them etc. Maybe I'm silly worrying but it is like sending a kid off to college! You can't see things 24/7. Although Sadie the lady cayuga has taken on the mama role with the babies. She is SO protective of them. Earlier Aric was fixing the fences on the pond enclosure and had the door open. They started to head out 3 different times and Sadie gently went up to them and directed them the other way! I'm sure Sadie or Opie won't let anything happen to my babies, plus I've seen the babies go after some of the chickens too! But still.....lol

Hey Lynn: I know that the Dewitt Grainery will mix feed at any protein level that you'd like if you order large quantities...don't know how much that is though...i'm thinking 500lbs! got the space? how many birds do you have?? someone posted w/in the last few days about finding feed for about 8bucks per bag....I know the stuff from the Dewitt Grainery is mash and not crumble...ours just throw the mash around and get it caught in their throats!

We got our first SLW egg today!
