It's been pouring buckets here for a couple of hours. I had left the call ducklings out there, but being the worry wart I am, my bf and I went out there to get them. Who do we see? Not chickens, but a bunch of drowned rats! That's what they looked like! It was tooo funny. Had it not been raining so hard I would have taken pics. I think they were confused because we now have the "garage" turned back into a chicken coop and I had closed the door to the old one before it started to rain in hopes they would go into the new one. So standing right next to the open door of the new coop stands all my chickens looking drenched and cold LOL

We certainly did need this rain! Although without a working lawnmower, it's gonna be very bad when the grass grows

I'm about an hour and a half northwest of you. Sorry you didn't get any. We all need it. It looks like there is a good sized storm headed your way tomorrow though.

Standard, not bantam? What about hatching eggs?

Standard

The girls just began laying a few days ago, so we'll wait until spring before selling any hatching eggs. Besides, I only see the rooster interested in one hen (and she's an almost-white Splash!)

I sadly need to rehome my Ameraucana pullet. She beautiful, from John Blem, but very flighty. My dogs are great with my chickens, but as soon as she sees them, she goes nuts squawking and running hell bent for leather across the yard. The dogs think this is an invitation to play. I am very worried she will be killed or just traumatized to death. I am willing to give her to a good home. PM me if you are in S. Mi, Jackson area and are interested. She is a pullet. Started laying very pale blue eggs in July. Silver color.

Hey, we homeschool, too. We do co-ops for some of it, so everyone got organized already. Makes summer seem shorter to be talking about it and planning it ahead of time. I'm NOT ready to relinquish my summer.

Send those storms to me.

Hi all! Looks like it may rain out today. Tomorrow supposed to be 68 degrees and very windy and Saturday is high of 61 degrees. So funny - Monday it was 94 degrees here and by Saturday it's supposed to be 61 and rainy. That's Michigan -- and I love it!

I am located in Columbiaville Michigan and was wondering if any one would be interested in buying chicks next spring. They are pick-up only. I have bantam BB Red OEGB, Mille Fleur Duccles, Cuckoo and soon Chocolate cuckoo polish, Partridge silkies, Black Blue or Splash silkies, and maybe Buff Cochins. In standard i have French Black Copper Marans, and Polish. I also have an EE pullet, a RIR hen, golden sebright hens, a standard blue cochin, and a bantam black frizzle cochin that i can mix with any of the roosters uppon request. I can sell them to you as chicks all the way up to laying age. Takking orders now.

Glad to see another homeschooler! My oldest is doing a co-op for science, writing, math, and government. She is in 9th grade. I just wrote on the calender everyone's activities and I will defenitely be a taxi driver a few days out of the week.
