Those are the first letters to my and Miss_Jayne's secret nicknames for each other. I'm her Red Okra Chicken Sista, and she's my Butter Biscuit Chicken Sista.


When we all get together for the swap, she and I can explain their meanings....it'll take a while.

yeah Steve it is getting scary for jobs around here. Just last week a big employer in Fowlerville closed as well. Dave and I have been staying busy but now were only booked about a month out where in years past we were normally booked 16 weeks ahead.

I'll be darned. I am a General Contractor too. Licensed and Insured, I do Residential and Light commercial. I also have a shop that I build custom cabinets and furniture in. We have a lot in common, besides the chickens.

We would be slow except we had a huge hail storm and it has kept me very busy with new roofs, siding, windows, doors, etc. I actually am booked pretty solid this upcoming year and 2008 was one of my best. We did 15 houses after that hailstorm.


When we meet up, we'll have some stories to share I'm sure.

What great carpenters we have among us! My brother is a carpenter and general contractor, he just got done building the Taco Bell at Wixom Rd exit on I-96.

My uncle also use to do what you guys do to. He would build a house live in it a few years and sell it. While doing finish work or build from the get go for people. He got out of the business and now he travels with the trap shooting league and travels all over fixing and cleaning peoples guns. Opa, you may know him, Keith Heeg..business was Heeg's Home Improvement.

And my husband was a excavator for years before his partner bought him out and he went to work for the family business, water softeners- sales and service and salt delivery.

It surely did get cold out tonight! I am on chore duty this weekend. Rachel is away at Winter Retreat with the church. I may just surprise her and clean the coops out for her. Depending on the weather....
