You need special tools to drill into the cinderblock or a hammer gun. Those are fun to use:)

Some 2x4's to frame it out and then some chicken wire and you'll be in business.

Sounds like a fun project!

Hey there Michigan people, soon I'd be joining your group, does any one live in or near St. Joseph, or can you please tell me good country sites close to Benton Harbor. We were looking at Niles and St. Joseph.

I can't believe the Mrs. drug me through 5 hours of shopping.

Butcher shop wasn't bad....bought some meat and outta there.

But then she wanted to go to Menards.....I am not fond of Menards, Lowes, etc. but it was what she wanted to do, so okay....but grocery shopping was the pits.

We go to meijer, she gets a few things in the cart and then says....it is too expensive here, we need to go to Wal-Mart, then puts everything back on the shelves. I drop her off at Wal Mart and go over to TSC until I figure she must be about closeto done and then go back to Wal mart...uhuh, she ran into a co-worker and was chatty....only about 1/3 done

Did I mention I hate grocery shopping?

Hope everyones day went better than mine.

I'm with you there. I absolutely hate those places. When they first opened the Home Depot in Howell I was invited to a contractors only preview. They told us how much they wanted our business and that there would be special contractor only lines so we would not have to spend a lot of time waiting to check out. I'm sure you know what a crock that was. I am used to running into a lumber yard getting everything I need and being headed back to the job in 20 minutes. Now when I go into those places it will take 45 minutes to buy a couple of 2x4s.
Also the quality of the material isn't a good as I am was used to getting when we had lumber yards. A lot of people don't realize that manufactors of cabinets, plumbing supplies, etc make a less quality product to sell at the big box stores. Now all of the lumber yards in our area have closed so procurring materials for a build has become extremely difficult. Now that said I don't dare even tell you how I feel about grocery shopping.

Preaching to the choir brother Sam.

I have a local mom and pop yard I use and love, quality is always there...period!

They know me and work with me in all I need.

I get those invires too, free breakfast for contractors, lunch, nascar viewings....blah blah blah.

Just give me a good product at a reasonable price and that's all I need, not the hype.

Howdy Alabamagirl- I don't know the Niles area well enough to give an opinion. I just drove through that area about 8 years ago. It was pretty much all farm land then. Never been to St. Joseph. Welcome to Michigan!!

My wife made cupcakes for last nights dinner with the kids.....I don't know what she made the frosting out of, but.....yuck. She said it was something lowfat or other.....I don't know. I bet she doesn't try that again.

So we have a birthday boy on here today....Congrats!

Sorry, can't help you either. You might want to wait to move here until our cold spell passes. It's pretty nasty here right now. We'll let you know when it's safe!
