He's 4yrs old so he'll just bulk up a bit more. He's solid as a horse and has the IQ of frozen broccoli but we love him

As far as I know Bellinger's does chickens. I've never used them but know someone who (I'm pretty sure) has.

Just talked to Bellingers and they don't do chickens!!! Anyone else know a place to process chickens? This could be bad!!!

Hmm, could've sworn my uncle too chickens there. Darnit.

You might also try Sage's in Greenville.

And if ya'll are in a pinch I do know (and can vouch for the work of) a custom/exempt (non-USDA) processor. You can PM me for that name/number if you end up needing it.

Well, hunters, how is it going out there? It's been a relatively quiet morning here; not nearly as many shots ringing as usual. This unexpected chill seems to have gotten the deer moving some, but apparently not enough. A friend who hunts our woods every year took one just after lunch this afternoon. I wasn't home -- ran out to the hay & straw auction -- but I hear it was a nice, big doe. It's been a few years since he's taken one out here so I'm really happy for him.

Took a spike this AM, father in law got a doe. Brother in law took a 5pt this evening and I think there is another doe or two take this evening as well. This is between 2 properties and 6 hunters. So far so good.

I SO wanted to go hunting this year, but a few houses were built on what used to be Aric's grandparent's property so it's impossible to go out here and we didn't have anywhere else to go. Bummer. Next door neighbor has been trying at a friend's house but nothing yet. Brother got a 5 pt and his 14 yr old daughter got a 6. She's having quite the time rubbing that in!! LOL

The chicken I was having strange problems with laid down and took her last breath this evening. She was roaming around and eating fine all day. It was definitely mysterious!

Well, it looks like my need for a winter beater car has been solved. Aric's daughter Kathrine has this car that has already been in 2 accidents since she's had it. Had a 3rd on Friday. She called about 1am crying that she swerved to miss 5 deer and had hit a tree. So Aric and I quickly got dressed thinking the worst. She hit a tree alright. Aric was able to get it out of a very large ditch (and it was sitting on top of a mailbox that was on top of a huge steel post so she hit it HARD) and away from the tree. It wasn't drivable at the time because the tire was completely flat and he wasn't sure about the undercarriage. Fortunately Kathrine's accident happened right next to a friend's house so we parked it there. The next morning Aric and I went out to see if it had a spare and if it was drivable. Fortunately yes on both. We get it home and by then Kathrine was already calling about cars. She said this one was a bad omen. She asked Aric if she could get scrap out of it and he told her I wanted the car.

It's fixable with a little money. Aric can fix absolutely anything with cars or houses! Funny thing is, she's been in 3 ditches in 2 years with it and all the damage is still on one side LOL. Best part of it all is, if I end up in a ditch or hit by someone with it, it won't matter, it's been through so much already!!

. A friend of hers is selling her a car for $600. That makes 2 cars I get for free in a year. I have a 1992 LeBaron convertible given to me in May. Too nice to drive in the winter.

I was out hunting today. Saw a few doe/fawns, but nothing I could get a good shot at.

My dad took a nice 8pt.
