I was admiring your Cane Corso on the farm dog thread and have been meaning to ask; did you find them from a breeder here in MI or did you have to travel/have them shipped in?
We're not ready for another dog yet, but our two are getting older and eventually will have to be replaced. The Cane Corso is on our list of "maybe" breeds.
Olive Hill........ where to begin.
My first CC, Kaine, came from a breeder in Colorado. I would buy from her again!! (don't let distance bother you when getting one of these dogs .. too many bad breeders our there, when you're ready, we should talk!)
Kaine was the best dog (cc) I ever had. He was extremely smart and loyal. He was protection trained and my security blanket! He was the first CC in the US to get a TT certification, a CD and a BH and he was the first working dog of the year in 2000 for the breed club. He was my stud dog... He was 10 when we had to put him down (on mothers day of all days) I still suffer the loss.
The other from one I got from a friend in MI (she is no longer breeding). Bruna is 9 yrs old, a good dog, also very smart. But she was a bit sharp and dog aggressive. (to certain dogs) She is an excellent guard dog and very obedient. I had one litter with her and Kaine, and the pups temperaments were super.
I have another CC named Bella, she's 5 yrs old. I can never get a good photo of her.... she is a pup from the Kaine/Bruna litter. She is a very quick learner and has the sweetest temperament. I was going to do competition obedience with her but she was injured in both her knees and after surgery etc... she cannot sit properly.
The one in the photo I posted, Delta, she's also 9 yrs old, and is from an old Italian blood line and was a gift. This person I wouldn't actually buy one from and have lost contact with him. Delta suffered severe Grand Mal Seizures, we almost lost her on the last episode. She wasn't coming out of it and had suffered brain damage from being unable to breath for too long. The vet put her in a deep sleep for 24 hours.... when she came out she had to be re house broken etc... she is and always has been a very sweet dog.
The last dog we have is a mastiff mix, with a little CC in there. Gino is 3 yrs old. He's a good dog that was turned in because the owners couldn't handle him. We fostered him for CC rescue, and decided he had to stay. Gino will pull a riding cart (I can't ride in it because it needs some work) he does a good job pulling it around.
I will get another CC some day after the two older girls have passed.
