I ran into a deal on apple cider vinegar (the Bragg Organic stuff with "mother") at Kroger stores this week. I don't know if it is statewide or not, but Kroger has it in the "health food" section for $3 a quart (actually 2 for $6). That is a lot cheaper than I have found it anywhere else, when I can find it. ($4.89 at elevator). I think the prices will be good until Saturday.

Good morning all!

72 Days Until April 1

Silly - What kind of bunnies? The two white ones look like little californians but not the others? They're all absolutely adorable. Also, I've been meaning to ask you. I'm planning on employing Californians this summer in the garden. I plant in wide, raised beds and have about 4 ft paths between each bed that are grass. I'm constructing some mobile "tractors" for the rabbits and will be moving them around the paths to keep them mowed down. I've got about 5500 sq ft, half of which (give or take) is in paths. Any thoughts about how many rabbits might be optimum for that size space. They will also get some rabbit pellets to keep them in good condition.

HH -- January and sometimes March are always my long month(s). We're usually very busy in February so I think that keeps things moving along. Of course, now that I've said that it'll drag on forever.

Fifelake -- I feel your husband's pain. I am a Michigan native, but I am convinced I was not supposed to be. I think something in the cogs of the cosmos jammed right around the time of my conception and I was mistakenly conceived not just in the wrong state but on the entirely wrong continent.

Well, I'm not sure if I should be proud or afraid. My chickens seem to be organizing themselves in a way that indicates a higher thinking capability than they are not supposed to possess. My alpha roo must feel overwhelmed because yesterday afternoon he was working smart, not hard. That or he was running some sort of reverse brothel out of the coop. When I went out to leave at about 4:30 yesterday afternoon he was standing in front of the coop door and had several hens lined up in single file order waiting to go inside. One would step forward from the front of the line, he'd dance, jump on top of her, mate her and jump off. She'd stand up, shake off her feathers and go inside. The next hen in line would step forward and he'd repeat the whole process.

I suppose I should just be happy to know he's figured out a way to ensure he's getting them all.

Honestly Olive, I cannot really help with that question. This is my first time with rabbits. I have both CA and New Zeeland.. although it was the supposed NZ that produced this litter. What I think I have are mutts, but that's ok with me. The babies sure are cute no matter what color!

Keyt. the black one seems real calm... I'm trying to handle these just to make it easier to manage them. If I decide to keep any.

Goodness no! I'm hard enough to live with down here. My husband would surely be driven to murder if he had to put up with me in the U.P.

You mean to tell me I will just have to take a little initiative and look this up? Well what good is BYC these days?

They are cute, whatever they are. Did you breed them yourself -- a supposed NZ to a supposed NZ -- or did the NZ doe come bred? If she came bred maybe she is pure, but the buck was either of a different breed or mixed himself? I, personally, am a sucker for hares. The last thing I need is another project to take on right now, but I've thought about looking into them for meat. Have you seen anybody raising them for that purpose?
