Sam I did the same. I brought him back from Montana. (that is where I was raised) My sister and I took 3 month turns staying with him so he could be home. We finally couldn't do it any more, so I brought him here. I would do it all over again. I know it is hard, but you will never regret it. Gail

What's with you all with all this talk of food? Think I gained 20 lbs just reading these posts! I try and not bake all those goodies so I can keep the weight off....it gets harder and harder as we grow... more mature!

I'm going to find a thread that doesn't include food.

Let me know when it's safe to come back.

Hi All!
12:08 AM a 7'9" baby boy was born to my grand daughter. His name is Benjamin Lee Crisp. My son is so proud of his girl. The middle name is the same as his. Ring the bells, pass out the cigars , yippeee!!!
We took care of my father for quite awhile also. He also was a man that took a drink of whiskey every day. He was a hard man to take care of, but wish he was still here. He passed away two years ago in March at the age of 92.
We lost another americana hen tonight. I tried to save her, but too late. She laid pretty green eggs and always followed me around.
Still cold and snowey out. It is so beautiful, but, I hate the cold. Getting tired of being out in it every day.
Have a great day and a wonderful weekend. Myrna

Congrats on the baby, ChickenPal...my grandson is 2 1/2 months old now. Its alot of fun.

Cries- give him back,,,stinky diaper- hand him back...whoo hooo..lol.

Drinking coffee now, wishing the cold away. Wishing my husband wouldnt pack so much for me to do in one day. Im tired, but I cant sleep. Tired and crabby. Got our tax appointment at 10, my new washing machine *whoooo hoooooo* being delivered between 3 and 8 pm today...and a bunch of running that I have to do before 3 now.

Gonna be a busy day. Anyone know what the weather is supposed to be like?

Morning all.

Got up early....had my eggs in the incubator on my mind. They're due to hatch on Monday, and I always feel the need to keep a closer check on the humidity during hatch. Just hope they all hatch.

Congrats, Myrna, on the new grandson! And I'm sorry to hear about your hen...hang in there, spring's on the way.

Well, I'm actually gonna beat the chickens up this morning! Won't they be shocked to see me this early!

Have a wonderful day everyone, and an awesome weekend!

Michelle, good morning I know you are headed for Miss_Jayne's today. I'm sure you will have a wonderful time. A word of caution. It is possible to overdose on cupcakes. I know from experience. One day last week I only ate six of the little things and it was all I could do to eat supper. Of course maybe that was another one of those age things. I can remember eating an entire coconut creme pie with a quart of milk for a afternoon snack and feeling like someone had been trying to starve me by suppertime.

Wow Opa...never knew that about cupcakes.

Thanks so much for letting me know.

Actually, I'm not a big sweet eater myself. Just not something I care a lot for. But on occasions such as this, I make an exception.

Heck, I don't even care for chocolate too much...every now and then's about it. But my DS...that's another story!

He'd eat nothing but the sugary stuff if I let him. But then again, won't all 3 year olds? As a rule, I keep very minimal amounts of "junk" food around the house. Our biggest weakness around here is ice cream....Blue Bunny Banana Split! YUM-O!

I am here in the background reading reading reading. I am glad that this thread is going good. I have just been so busy talking care of my DAd until he passed. and then trying to get back into things here. I am keeping up with all of you though. I read this thread every day. I would love to meet all of you. Gail

I'm glad to know you are still here. I went back to the beginning of this thread and seen I came on here around page 4 and it made me wonder where some of those peole went to. I haven't been up to Tower/Onaway/Rogers City in a couple of years to our cabin, but hope to this year.

Morning everyone!

Blue Bunny ice cream isn't bad, but I would suggest that you never buy Blue Bell ice cream. I used to get it when two of my sons lived in Lousiannna. They make a banana pudding ice cream that could be durn near fatal. They used to have a commercial that said "we make Blue Bell ice cream. We eat all we can and sell you what we can't".

We need to get all of this recipe posting out of our systems soon. Fat Tueday is only 24 days away.
