oh Connie!!!!!!! How awful and how scary! I am thankful though that your loss wasnt greater- and OMG! I am glad that you were able to witness and stop your daughter from running in! She must be very upset.
Keyt- I have had an egg explode as well. Inside the incubator. nasty nasty stuff.

My daughter had the worst seizure she has ever had, yesterday. Full grand mal seizure. She doesnt remember anything but it lasted six minutes according to the paramedics. She was in school. I met them at the e.r. My daughter is epileptic but her seizures are of the 'stare-off' type. So this is new for us.
My mother-in-law was very weak yesterday. Hopefully she will feel stronger today. Yesterday was a step-down from how she was doing the day before. I dont mind two steps forward, one step back- it is much better than one step forward, two steps back.
My female muscovy is walking. Small little slow steps. That is an improvement from not being able to walk at all. Hopefully she too, will do better today.

You all have a wonderful day. Instead of wishing for warmer weather, perhaps we should wish for Snow. That way we can try reverse psychology on Mother Nature.
Oh I almost wish it had exploded in the incubator. I picked it up to candle it and it exploded in my face just as I picked it up to look at it. In my mouth, up my nose, in my eye (it made it under my glasses!!!), all over the carpet, down the wall and on the couch. Aric was sound asleep with both of the doors closed and he heard it explode. He took care of me then cleaned up what he could and threw baking soda all over everything and left it til about an hour ago. Had to throw the towel and my clothes away.
OMG...OMG....
I think I would've thrown up! Oh Keyt that really really sucks!
Any sign of a bad egg I toss it in a ziploc bag and it goes outside in the trash. I hope the rest of your hatch goes well!
