Hmmm... Mine are between 11 and 12 weeks old and look like this. I think you have roos.

What?? Looking at yours, I most definitely have roos! Three of them. And they are huge. Go figure. Usually, roos are easy to spot within weeks. Perhaps I've been in denial, but they just seemed so... hen like... until recently. And they are quiet.

We started the year with five hens and a rooster. I sold the rooster and a hen. Bought 9 chicks, all were roos except 3, and I'm still undecided about the silkie. I also bought a new rooster and hen, and she flew away like a pheasant, never to be seen again. It looks like I will be needing some more chickens!

we had an overly ardent peacock who would display and call at all times. I threated him several times with a roasting pan "tie-dyed turkey" to no avail. Instead i got rid of that husband, far as i know he's still got the birds.

The guy who packages my honey has 3 peacocks and all of them are in full display mode. His peahens are sitting on nests.
I'd have a peacock in a heartbeat if they weren't so loud. It's bad enough with the roosters I have now. They don't understand "stealth mode" for suburban chickens.

I woke up to 4 bantams hatched and looked at one thinking it was extra large for a bantam...then I realized it was a normal sized chick. I've been hatching bantams for too long lol. Not to mention I seriously need new glasses

I finally decided I needed to do something around here, so I chose to mow the lawn. Bad idea. I wasn't wearing my hand or leg brace and now I feel it lol. But with the exception of the front of the big house, I did it all and I feel pretty good. Nothing like some hard work to feel energized...even if I have to suffer for it the next few days lol.

Still trying to raise money to go to chickenstock. I'm really surprised no one has jumped on my ad for my son's clarinet. I guess I'd have a better chance of selling it right before school starts. I have several other instruments that are mine but I still play them now and then. I really need to have a yard sale. I have my whole previous apartment's contents in the sitting room in the big house but that would require a LOT of work and I've put it off for a long time.

Oh well, I still have a week to go
