Ksl42 if I didn't say it already welcome to BYC and the michigan thread!

Chickmate glad you are coming to chickenstock - and fifelake (and everyone else not coming) wish you were

Raz sorry to hear about your neighbor problems. Is your area zoned against chickens? It sounds like there are ways to get zoning changed to allow small flocks. Or you can do like I did and move 250 miles. My neighbor just took 5 of my young hens, thank goodness.

It has been foggy here since yesterday afternoon, love the sound of the foghorn. And we have had over 3 inches of rain in the last 2 days, so are no longer in drought. My garden is springing out of the ground, removed the wall of waters yesterday. Can't wait for a ripe, red, fresh home grown tomato!

Found out today that we are going to need a new well dug. Ours is shot from the lightening. Thank goodness the in-laws live next door so I won't have to go to chickenstock smelly

at least all this rain is keeping those pond irises good and wet and I don't have to water them.

If all else fails grab some body wash and go to your local golf course ...you have to run back and forth as the sprinkler rotates but it's like a high-powered excercise shower!

We lost power for a couple days with that huge storm that came through a while back and had to shower at my folk's house...it's never fun to leave the house stinky.

yes I did, sorry about that.
WHile Im talking to you I noticed your link to your coop and went to see, wow a hoop house!! I don't know what is about that style that I really like. And yours has housing or something way in the back also?? I really like mine, AND that I did it all myself. But the house part isn't very tight cause I tried to build it inside after it was all covered in wire. Hard thing to do. But Im very proud of it.

my personal email is [email protected] in case you cant get thru and I forget to dump (oh THAT didn't sound very good...hahahahaha)

You mean you need a new pump? That's not fun either. Our well was dug 60-some years ago and the pump went out last summer. But that wasn't surprising since the pump itself was 20-some years old. But it seemed like with everything we replaced, something else went bad. First the pump, then the wires, then the pipes..ugh. Fortunately Aric's mom lives about 5 miles away so we could take showers and stuff there. Then a week later the neighbor had almost the same problem so Aric was busy with that! But the neighbor's wasn't as damaged or as old so it didn't take as long.

Good luck. I know the nightmare it can be!
