So this morning I heard on the radio that Saginaw Hwy is completely open!!!
I was worried about all the construction but they say they have finished 3wks early and now all 4 lanes are open for traffic!
I am stuck at work right now until 3pm and have SO MUCH to do. Not only do I have to get ready for chickenstock I have my rabbit shows...tonight is going to be a busy night!

Those of us who aren't able to come this year are really looking forward to hearing ALL about it and seeing LOTS of pictures. All that will be missing is the tasting and smelling of yummy food...and the interaction of friends having a great time.

Here we have been stuck inside for days as it rains and rains and rains. Guess you are getting that too downstate?? Hubby was complaining and I reminded him that at least our sandy soil is great at draining! My BBS Jersey giant chicks are now at wk. 5 and it is looking like out of Wynette's 7 splash...only 2 or 3 are pullets. Out of Maria's Halls blacks and blues...I think 4 of 6 are pullets. This means later this summer I will have some really nice splash , blue or black Jersey Giant roo's if anyone is interested. No pullets...I will be keeping all of them since there are so few. I will be going to Vermontville on Aug. 23rd (Eaton County) and if anyone is wanting one you can let me know and I could bring it down. I will fly out (unless hubby's heart surgery gets scheduled for that timeframe...)on aug.24 to Tampa, Fla. to celebrate my dads 98th birthday with him. (his sister turns 100 this next month!)

My plan is to pack my vehicle tonight.
Three coolers- we used all of them last year, right? One for waters, one for pop, one for juices and juice pouches for kiddies...yep, I will bring all three.
I am NOT bringing screen tent this year. We set it up and nobody needed it, and it was a pain to load back up...
Empty carrier for silkies, empty carrier for gosling.....empty carrier for impulse purchase...
ex-pen for if needed...

OH crud. Chickmate! What city/town are you in? If you really are insane and willing to transport/hold the ducks I will email that woman this morning and see if she would be overjoyed at your hospitality..

But....just in case- what on earth do I have to put Mama and babies in...who lets their duck hatch 21 eggs? Must be because I couldnt count them all without her pinching my hands and arms...

I am excited about Chickenstock and I am not even going- next year for sure. It would be so fun just to see the different chickens etc. you all bring, since I am such a novice. And I would really like to meet you. Be safe driving, take pictures, and eat lots of Opa's chicken for me!
