BAHAHAHAH, That is funny. Now I am way to big of a wuss for that, but I can just picture somone in their pj's wandering around with club chasing down a a bunch of coyotes.

Now add being barefoot in a pine forest to that. Oh well, haven't heard anything in a while. Think I got my point across.

More like painful but I take the compliment. A woman's gotta do, what a woman's gotta do. You'll get there.

LOL you are all just full of encouraging animals sounds for me to hear. I am such a wuss. I won't go out after dark if I hear a noise if my life depends on it. My poor DH has to do all the checking. He is especially thrilled when there was absolutly nothing to be found.

oh c'mon wannaB, put your night vision goggles on and get out there and spook something!! It'll probably never come back

oh goodness, a turkey falcon? awesome. Im trying to coax a Chante up on my lap with treats and it ain't working so far. I'll probably have to break down and buy some meal worms.
I did get the zip lock bag out of the freezer and toss them some frozen June Bugs this afternoon. I hadn't given any of them to the Chante's yet, they really liked them.
one thing I won't touch is a LIVE June Bug, ewwwwwww.

Mom had a young group of 10 or 12 each on Royal Palms & Burbon Reds a few yrs back- when she thought she wanted to raise them for keepers and not just the meat turkeys. She raised them to breding age and sold them though. The Royal Palms if you would stick your arms out like a scarecrow would all roost on your arms...... you can fit all of them on when they are just feathered out...... but only one or two a side after another month or 2. They were cool birds. Babette bought her breeding trio & last I knew still has them (the tom won at the fair for Babette!!)

Any RIR roos here haven't stayed long, that's for sure. Then again, neither have the hens.

I just found out the leghorn a lady called me out of the blue and asked if I wanted, died a few days ago. I gave her to my best friend and she was afraid to tell me. She's fairly new to chickens and she said the hen was panting most of the day. She thought she was sick, she didn't know chickens panted. She said she had fans in the coop but the leghorn wouldn't go outside. It was very hot and humid that day and she just sat in the corner and panted. Then an hour after checking on her she was dead. She feels really bad, but I feel bad she was afraid to tell me because she was afraid I'd regret giving her to her.

So, are leghorns sensitive to heat? We have the same amount of ventilation in our coops so she may have died here anyway.

Hi all, Wow miss a couple days on here and you get an additional 30 some pages

I have a very cute little bantam white D'uccles roo that needs a new home. Any interested? I live near Fraser and he needs a new home before I get comments from my neighbors again. After he is gone, I hope all I have is girls left.

I started with 6 full size birds and have 3 (now laying yippee) and had 8 bantams and will end up with 3 of those. It sure stinks having to get rid of some of your favorite ones because they turn out to be roos

He looks just like my aracauna roo...except I think mine has a little RIR in him

I was afraid he might be a RIR....I've heard they can be mean. I've not had a mean one here. I'm afraid for my little roos, and a little for myself, herding him.
