You're going on vacation?? Lucky you!! Sorry bout your hip problems. I know how it is to be in pain and not much you can do about it. Hope dr can fix you up.
My other two parakeets actually hatched this parakeet. After several laid eggs, she finally hatched one. It seems parakeets become egg bound very easily. Always tried to get two females, but we know how that goes.

Yeah, we are going on vacation. We go on one in the summer, but never have been on one in the fall. We bought a sampler (1 year) membership with Bluegreen. (timeshare type thing) We can't afford the regular kind, so we just thought we would try the year....lol

My MIL is staying at the house to take care of all my animals and that way the dog doesn't have to go the kennel.

Angela! Dude, you can't be belly dancing unless you can bend over backwards and touch your toes while still staying on your feet! Just kidding. Gotta be careful with hips though. I got a friend who is going in for a second round of hip replacement, He had his first 2 when he was 38, and he's having them redone. Of course he did a lot more than pull some tendons while belly dancing... Though, I am not sure I'd want to see that...

Farmer Andy, those costumes are too cool.

Chicken Grandma, thanks for the condolences, it will be a year come Sunday. As for the cat, I think I might have him a home. A lady contacted me about her missing cat, hoping this one was it. But she's had no luck finding hers and we live in the same neighborhood. SO anyway, she said she's thinking she'll take the guy in the next few days if no one else has claimed him and she hasn't found hers. So, kinda keeping my fingers crossed that she'll find hers, but also that she'll end up taking this sweety too.

What a beautiful morning here in Sunny Holland!

yorkchick -- You're too sweet. I'm not going anywhere. I was just reminded of how great the MI BYCers really are. And why I keep coming back to hang out here.

chickflick -- You didn't video tape that for us? We'd have probably paid good money to watch.

Our ground is clay too. The holes are always literally smoking they're so hot by the time we get the auger down to where we want it. BTW, this weekend the kids are making halloween cookies with the cutters you brought them. Thanks again for those.

Raz -- I'm wondering if you might have any suggestions for me. I took a runner off a big lilac bush we have in the side yard two years ago and planted it up by the house. It's been growing well but this year in the heat and humidity it got some kind of white film all over its leaves. I'm assuming some kind of mold or mildew? Now I am noticing the leaves are turning completely black and shriveling up. Should I treat or should I just wait and see if the harsh winter kills whatever it is anyway?

I feel your pain on this one, our bullmastiff-mix (also a rescue) is phobic of about anything noisy, the vacuum cleaner, fireworks, gunshots, thunderstorms... I could go on. It seems to be getting worse as he ages too. I used to put him in his kennel when I vacuumed so he wasn't running around the house in a panic knocking everything over, until he bent the wires on his door and broke out. In our old house he got himself so worked up once that he ran right into the wall and dented the drywall with his huge head. So now he goes in the garage when I vacuum, but he still just absolute shrieks and it makes me wonder what the neighbors must think... :roll eyes: Here is this gigantic dog, and he's just a big baby. And when it storms his screeching begins at the first sign of lightning. Needless to say, I didn't get much sleep last night either... and is it just me or do thunderstorms seem to always happen at night?!

So I understand your frustration, we've had him for six years now, and while I feel terrible for him because I don't know what happened to him to make him so afraid of noises, it certainly does get old after a while. Especially when you feel like you have tried it all. If you hear anything about the thunder vest, let me know, I'm interested to know more about it too.

Just leave it be. Lilacs are hardy shrubs. Darn things are difficult to get rid of.
It was a rough year for dampness related ailments; mungi and mould were problems everywhere, but not typically too harmful.

Good morning everyone. Been catching up on the posts, sure do get behind if you miss a day or two! Good news on the light timer, it works! Lights go on at 6:00 a.m. and off at 8:00 a.m. and I don't give them any lighting at night. I don't know if the extra two hours will make any difference or not, but I'll try this for a while. Off to get chicken grumbles.

Welcome to misslady, glad to have you with us!

Farmer Andy, the costumes are adorable! Your wife is very crafty (I mean that in a good way!)

Mom2 - Please take care of yourself, we love you!

Keyt - Good work, can see you've been busy!

Good to know it'll probably come back next year. They're so slow growing I don't want to have to start over.

Love the costumes, Farmer! Your wife did an awesome job. I love crafts, but never got the sewing bug. My mom made beautiful drapes and slip covers, clothes...well anything. She showed me how to make pillow cases for our European pillows ( instead of ordering them from Germany, or having our German friends bring them) but, just don't enjoy sewing.
Olive, yes, you would have paid good money to see me hopping up and down on the darn auger. We, ourselves, were laughing so hard!

Glad the kids are using the cookie cutters. You need my address to send me some???

Angela, if your MIL needs any help with your critters, you could tell her to call me. Just PM me if you want my phone #.
I was so mad when I heard it raining last night. It wasn't suppose to, I thought. I wanted this last pretty day to finish up on some things outside. Well, it turned out pretty. Took the dogs for a walk in the park. Now, I have to go out and get those things done!! Enjoy the day.......
