Take the top off one you get at the grocer. I planted 2 today. I have to write up the "how to" about exposing the adventatious roots to help them get a head start.

If you like, I can show your DD how to do it on her own. I have to return your carrier, so I could do both if that works for you.

sure, RaZ! Hoowever coordinating our schedules is difficult at best. According to this site, http://www.rickswoodshopcreations.com/Pineapple/pineapple.htm

it takes YEARS to get it to produce that way.

I was hoping for instant gratification, but I am sure this way teaches patience, which is a good trait to have.

I may need to go to bed early tonight. I read this:
Mary of Exeter off the pigeon board

as:

Mary Exeter, the Pigeon Broad

And I thought gee, that's an interesting nickname...

Only 2 to 3 years. Start with a fresh one and 2 years is more likely. Where we live, the fruit will be quite a bit smaller (usually) but should be pretty tasty.

I got more pips!!

I got the new coop nearly finished!!

SO, today I had off. I took my hodge podge wood pile, started laying the peices out in the size order I had to work with, and went from there. It looks like I have a 4x5(bit bigger, but basically) coop for the most part. I know it isn't big enough for 12 full grown chickens, but the plan is to not have 12 full grown chickens in there. As soon as the roosters are old enough... they'll be dinner ya know. SO, maybe 6 chickens in the end. And since mine free range all day, when these guys are big enough to free range, will be fine in there. I still need to build a another coop though...

I went to go and collect eggs from the coop, and get any new ones from under Skeeter, and since Skatter lays green eggs, so I have to check the eggs to pull the right one out. AND, I hear little chirps! I have a PIP! WOOOHOOO! Ok.. How is it Skeeters eggs are hatching on time, and Leila was 1/2 a week late when Skeeter is in the coop outside and Leila is in the warmer garage.... Chickens...

And I think the turkens are like the poodles of the chicken world... Turkens, show girls...yup...

teeville, what is the name of the medicine that your daughter takes? It sure is rough being a parent, isnt it? I wouldnt trade it for anything in the world- but it sure is rough.

She takes Nadolol (generic for Corgard).
I agree it can be rough parenting, but I wouldn't trade my kids for anything.

I practice catch & release.
