What you are saying is so true. As for the disorders you mentioned a lot of them are genetically inherited and so many people don't realize what a role their diet also plays in as to maintaining/controlling the disorders. So many people feel that a pill will cure everything.....wrong.

A lady in a quilt shop once assured me the earlier puberty we see in kids these days is due to the superior nutrition they're getting. You'll all be proud to know I bit my tongue and refrained from rolling around on the floor laughing. It was a day on which I had a particular amount of self control, thank goodness.

welcome to our group!

RaZ What about miss pepper and cajun queen?

snowflake There was a farm in Coopersville you could buy shares from; not sure on the address. I will have to look it up again. I lost my info i wrote down. Do you know how much a share averages? I am interested too, but kind of depends on cost.

I'm just back from Meijer's and the lady behind me looks at my stuff and says, "ewww, goat milk. What do you do with that?" I just gave her my best stink eye.

Hehehe. I have become better at holding my tongue in my "old age". There was a time when I wouldn't have and so every time I do it's a little bit of a triumph. LOL!

When I was six or seven years old we had a guernsey/holstein cross that gave an incredible amount of milk with a high butter fat content. We always had more than we could drink so we would run the excess thru a cream separate and give the blue john to the hogs. Once when the cow was battling a case of mastitis we would give the whole milk to them. When the milk was safe for us to start drinking and separating the milk again the hogs were quite vocal in their dislike of the skimmed milk.

When ever my father wasn't able to milk, my mother would attempt to milk the cow. Talk about a battle. She never could get the cow to let her milk down and it was constantly shifting position or kicking. I remarked that I could do it, so in desperation she agreed. I drew the stool up close, sat down and commenced to milk. The cow never once moved and in short order the udder was empty and the bucket was filled. From the day on milking was added to my daily chore list.

All this talk about milk reminds me of the story about the woman who ask a farmer for enough milk for a milk bath. When he asked if she wanted it pasteurized she replied "No just enough to reach my waist".
