so glad we didn't get all that snow! We got a lot of rain though. As far as I'm concerned, winter had it's chance, it's time for spring!

I saw a robin yesterday!

No damage from the wind last night!

LOL!

Went to the coop to feed and it was still windy.Everything was in tack and no damage except my duck tape job came off the plastic on the pen and I now have a bigger tear.
I am really considering getting those clear plastic panels like so many of you have for next winter. Would be simple enough to put up, take down and store in my shed. Add it to my list.
I imagine when I go into town there will be branches down everywhere. DD has a volleyball game and then the rest of the day I'm just gonna chill......Unless my will power fails when we go to TSC! Oh how I love that place!!!

Correction - there is over 18 inches out there. It was a workout just to walk to the coop and back. I had to shovel out the coop door just to get in - it was half way up the door. NOT a big snow fan and NOT looking forward to shoveling. However, thankfully we didn't get the worst of the snow. And as much as I hate snow I'll take it over the tornadoes.

When I read the posts referring to being exasperated by what your children have or haven't done, I can't help but wish mine were still here to irritate me. They grow up much to fast. My baby is 40. When I think about how old having all of your children now in there 40s makes me I'm glad that I started my family while I was still in grade school.

I certainly am proud of the men they have become.
Opa, I have read plenty of your posts on how you raised your boys to know that you are the reason they have become the men they are.

I just realized that I've hit 7500 posts.
Don't any one tell Nova. She's liable to strain something trying to catch up.

Congrats!

I agree, winter has had it's chance. Thoughts and prayers however to those that have been hit by the tornadoes.

Daron, that was smart of you to drive with the windows open. I hope it did not make you sick though.

As I sit here drinking coffee and watching the snow come down I would like to grumble and complain, but when I look at the amount of snow that so many of you are dealing with I not going to complain. However, when you watch the news coverage of the tornado damage in the south none of us can complain about snow and cold.

...and hello to everybody! gotta a lot of catching up to do!

Making the trip to TSC with the whole family this afternoon. Have a 15% off coupon so going to get a few things to be ready for when our chicks arrive. Hopefully having H with me will keep me and the boys from bringing any chicks home with us today.

I would, but our TSC has a habit of only getting a few of the "fun" breeds, then not ordering more. :( I got me EE roo from them, and i have yet to see more EE's there....Still early yet, so

And don't worry, this year i will be making a little covered run to butt up to my camper, so when i am not playing shepherdess the chickens will have some place safe to be.

Just give a little time to let the dust wear off! Spray the walls and perches right away. you don't want an overdose of pesticides..... I don't like them, but i really do recommend this product. It's only $10. and you can use it as a coop spray, bird spray, or make my magic leg mite ointment... I really do think they get less of the pesticide with the drops, and that way all you have to do is go down the line at nightfall when they're roosting. I don't have the spray info cause my birds developed a fetish for eating paper...Just remember that mites live off the bird, so they are seriously infesting the walls right now, and you can bring them into your house if you are not careful... if you are actually seeing them THAT'S BAD! They will make your birds anemic and can kill them, so spray the walls and perches too. The liquid will last longer and coat better than the powder. "pyrmethrin 10%" is the name, and it is not with the chicken stuff. Under my posts is a couple links for mites/lice info.

If you actually knew what goes on during spring break... My DH lived in FL when he was a high schooler. and his wild sister sneaked out and went,..... well, let's just say that i'm not allowed, even WITH him!
