Quote: Trouble is, my procrastination is year round.
I don't mind most assignments or tests; I just hate this Bio-Stats stuff. So many things can go wrong and we don't get partial credit on the problems.

3 hours to do 2 problems which is better than I expected. Took a break and made a fresh pot of coffee. Now back to analyzing udder irritation of mechanical vs. manually milked cows.
I am curious about the analyzed results about that. We plan to milk the cow manually, and I work at the farm that milks mechanically.

I have heard that canned venison is very good. It must be because everyone that has told me that has never shared with me

There have been so few deer around here that DH hasn't gotten any the past 4 years.

We're over-run with deer over here! I'll try and scare a few towards Newago, lol!

RBahmer, there are many independent rescues that can help you out. Even Pit specific. I'll keep my ears and eyes open for a home.

http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2008/magazine/12/22/vick.dogs/ If anyone is interested, take a look. Pretty amazing what these dogs went through and then came back from.

Thank you. Pitt bulls are not my choice of dogs but he is so good and so nice I just don't want anything to happen to him. We figure whoever dumped him couldn't feed him anymore because I can find no bad vices with this dog. He is so lovable and would make a good dog for someone.

If anyone is interested I have a pit mix that was just dumped here this winter. He came to our door one night in November and he is needing a good home.
Makes me so mad that people can just dump a dog or any animal for that fact and think nothing of it. I have a few friends who acquired dogs that way. The dumpers loss because they all turned out to be great pets!

I've heard the same. My MIL use to can it but I never had any....she quit canning before I met her DS. My DH mentioned canning it a couple of times but I honestly don't want to attempt it. I have my hands full when it comes to canning the tomatoes, juice and salsa. We do so many quarts & pints as it is I'd rather just freeze the venison.

Could your procrastination be due to lack of interest......happens to me.

his very very gentle dog... Unless you show him a chicken.

He looks so cute.....look at that little mug!

Thought I'd share of pic of my nephews dog.....he's half English Bulldog and I think pug...not sure, I forgot. We call him the German Tank because when he knocks you down that is what it feels like what plowed you over!

I have 2 big dogs that came here. The first one is the pitt and the second one, a guy took to a friends farm, put it in a cage in one of the barns, and walked away. Our friend didn't even know the dog was there until him and my husband found it !!!! The friend begged my hubby to bring it here as he is in his 80's and already had 5 dogs so hubby brought it home. We also have a zillion cats that people dumped off here. I told my hubby one time " Dang, I forgot to take that BIG sign out of the yard." He said what sign ? I said, the one that says dump all your unwanted animals here !!!!!! I hate irresponsible people. Can't seem to get people to understand a pet is a lifetime commitment.

I have been trying to find a way to not have gall bladder surgery. LOL. Are you sure you need 2 weeks off for it? That there is not something I can do. I mean, I can probably get help, but 2 weeks is a lot of time for me...
Nova- I had 2 weeks off, no exception, and I needed every day of it because things didn't go quite as planned with my surgery.

Mom2 - Somehow I think your family would understand if you were laid up on a holiday or birthday. I'm sure they care more about your health than one day of the year. I hope both you and Nova can get it taken care of soon.
Mom2- I have to agree with Olive. I had my surgery 3 days before DH's birthday. He was more concerned about me than about the missed birthday. I would think the sooner you get it done the better it will be for you. If this is something you were told would need to be done, don't wait. You don't want to have it come down to an emergency surgery.

Nova, had mine out and vacumed the floor the next day its not bad these days
Kimmie

Everyone is different in how they respond to the surgery. I wish mine had gone the way yours did. I was unable to move for a week without crying because they had me on the table longer than expected because the stone was bigger than the incision so my muscles were frozen extra long. My son slept next to me on the floor because I literally couldn't move or get up on my own.

But then, too, I have a co-worker who just had his done. They wound up doing the longer incision on him and he had to stay in the hospital for a few days. He was supposed to be off for 6 weeks, but came back after 2. So I think it really depends on the person.

I just want to note that I'm not trying to scare anyone with my experience, but I think it would be re-miss of anyone to not let someone know that there is more than one way it could go. I do think, however, that mine was more of an exception than the rule and most of these surgeries are pretty standard and easily recovered from.

He's awful cute!!

I hope they accept our app... our biggest downfall is that we both work.
Do you both work at the same time? When we got our dog, their concern was if the dog would be on its own for 8 hours or more. He's a cutie so I hope it works out for you.

Are you gonna try for these? Experiment a little?

swollen joints and limping. I think it can also build up crystals in one of the organs? Not sure how common it is, got Dawg on me cause i advised someone to give canned fish to fatten a rescue up in the winter. Had to look it up, never knew him to be wrong, but never heard of it. You can search gout on the byc search.
Someday i want some to experiment with. when the prices are a little more down to earth! Gotta work on getting some lavendars first anyway. The first step is to get someone to set on My blue eggs, as they are the ones i wanna cross with the lavs! :)

Yup! Magnesium and calcium are muscle relaxers too, so if you supplement it would make for less headaches and whatnot. Also magnesium is a biggie for mood swings. :)

On the gall bladders, according to the 90 year old guy that used to own a campground up by mesick said he got rid of a gall stone by eating a raw onion every day

Looked it up and there is something in the onions that does dissolve the stones. Drinking apple juice is supposed to cut down on the pain drastically. The only other remedy i've heard of is putting a tb of cider vinegar in a few tb of olive oil and drinking it.

supposed to make it come out. none of these will replace surgery if ya'll are far along, but it could stop it from getting worse.
The biggie is getting your body PH right. If you have the gallbladder removed there is a chance that you will keep making stones, but in a different organ. Also what they don't tell you is that you will have issues from then on with eating greasy food. My sis went through all this. Had hers yanked. (She's just now learning about natural health) The biggie is getting your ph to a normal level, so you don't have other problems down the line.

OK, so for at coopersville TSC we have straight run isa browns and barred rocks, and black sex link pullets, and a few pekin ducks. Supposed to get another shipment in any day! "red pullets" sold out, but there will probably be more soon. There are 2 little areas, and so far the other area has been empty??? Our feed mill is taking names and numbers for orders to townline, she's gonna try to combine everyone's orders so as to get a discount. only a few little banties, one brown chipmunk, one yellow and black and white chipmunk, and a yellow and brown chipmunk, all clean legged so no silkies or de'uncles or cochins. :(
