Hi All!!

Made it through the day of jury duty and found the guy guilty. It was pretty interesting really hearing the way both sides were presented.
I think we now have one of our black austrolorps wanting to set. So tomorrow I will try to find a place to put her and see what happens. Our little bantum is still sticking to her eggs, even when the others climb on top of her to lay theirs!!

Welcome to the new ones again Hope you enjoy all the stuff you will learn and new friends you will make.
That is so cool about all the babies hatching.

I hope you all get a lot more.

Good morning all. Spring officially arrives in just over an hour but the 19 degree temperature seems to belie that fact. I have so many things I need to do outdoors that are going to have to wait until the weather becomes kinder to old bones.

My best friend Bob lives 45 miles southeast of me and today he will be coming out to spend the day. We plan to take our 85 year old bachelor friend to lunch and check out how his woods faired this winter. Unfortunately about 70% of his woods is ash trees and we expect the winter winds have blown over alot of trees. It certainly was sad to sit in our deer blinds looking at all of the once beautiful trees killed by the ash borer. We've hunted his farm for over 30 years and it is heartbreaking to see it now. Ash is such a beautiful wood and it's a shame that now we will cut and split many for the farmer to heat his house with, but most will just rot where they fall.

I was reading back and checking out the pics of those beautiful cochin. I think I really MUST have a few of those babies!!!! By the time I'm done I think hubby will have to expand the new coop - even though he hasn't even finished it yet!

Anyone know who may have some cochin available in the Lapeer or Columbiaville area?

MJ - how are your Maran eggs doing? Last message I got from you said they were going slow.... I'm praying they hatch out o.k. for you
