You know, I'm really not sure what, exactly, is wrong with them. Perhaps a study is in order?

Haha!! What kind of study? I might be game. :) I just enjoy a HUGE variety of hobbies, and I've loved games since I was a kid. It's one of the few technologies I'd miss if we lost them all.

LOL! Seriously though, I'm sure there are perfectly nice gamers out there... somewhere. Personally, I've never met one IRL who has managed to be both a gamer and a fully-functioning, productive member of society.

If you're not hatching your own (and therefore don't have excess roos to contend with) spent hens make equally nice soup, stock, stews and casseroles.

good dog food too!

Yeah that's the goal....... have you ever canned your pork? YUM!

We don't can much meat, as a general rule. Venison, mostly. Planning to dabble in some seafood canning this year, but nope, no pork. We're very spoiled with plenty of freezer space.

Well the Air Force personnel center has finally approved my separation from active duty, I should be in Michigan NLT 1 July. I am totally excited right now.

Now I did warn you that I was going to have lots of questions, so hear we go....Can anyone tell me what they know about the school districts around the Kalamazoo and Battle Creek areas? What I have been able to find so far online is that Marshall, Plainwell, Mattawan, Schoolcraft, and Gull Lake seem to be the districts I want to get into for the kids? Any and all help is appreciated.

Time to have a glass of wine to help the nerves.

All this talk of rabbits. I've been thinking a rabbit hutch built right over the compost pile... self-feeding compost + meat = perfect!

(But I suppose this isn't really real life, hehe) I do know what you mean though, some of those people let games take over their lives, and that is pretty extreme. I personally know a couple people who's marriages have ended over them playing those games ALL the time. When I was strictly a college student some years ago w/no regular job, I played a lot more than I do now, but at this point I don't think I've played anything for more than 5 minutes in many months. For me it's a nice distraction/stress reliever on occasion. All of my hobbies serve this purpose in one way or another. :)

People are not likely to buy mutt roos if you coat them in gold leaf and adorn them with jewels. Okay, well, maybe if you did all that. Maybe. If you don't have a plan to use/dispose of excess roosters it is unwise to hatch chickens. In general, if something is of no worth to you, it's of no worth to others. Roosters are a dime a dozen, mutt roosters are a dime a truckload. Don't depend on sales of them to reduce your population.

Thanks... good to know. Never dabbled in the chicken market before...I have, however, made a fabulous chicken noodle soup!
