I would write a letter to her, make two copies and send it to her certified. I would include:

- details of the interaction
- details of your conversation with the zoning officer following the interaction
- mention of trespassing laws and a request that she refrain from entering your property
- mention of it being illegal to shoot your rooster on your property
- mention of it being illegal to threaten people
- mention that her threats of using a firearm for harm to your animals makes you fear not just for the safety of your animals, but also yourself and your children on your property
- your intent to pursue the full action of the law should she choose to proceed with her previous threats or should she choose to make more including a PPO if she continues to threaten you
X 2 on that one. I have fruit loops for neighbors also. I ignore the silly idiots but they never come down here and threaten me or my animals either. But then, I do live on the east wing of the asylum LOL

Yup I know about the crops. Wheat is all yellow around here. If we don't get rain soon the beans will be no good. My best friend works at a livestock yard and she said on Sat. 2nd cutting hay was $5.10 a bale.

1st cutting was $4.00 a bale and crap hay brough $3.00 and something a bale.

The USDA estimates for harvest are looking high from what I'm seeing. And the drought isn't getting any better in most places. We had to ship a whole lot of hay down last year, I don't even want to know what this year's going to be like. Haven't picked up any steers for that reason alone. Hoping for an extra good hunting season to stretch the beef, I guess.

Rounds haven't gotten too high here yet, but I see squares went for $4.10 last week.

Glad the oinkers aren't choosy... and extra glad I don't have any hay burners out there right now. LOL!

Olive, I think you're spot on!

There are laws regarding how close you can be to a dwelling, while shooting a firearm and the direction shooting toward... etc.. but those are details I guess. Basically, she'll be looking at felony charges if she wants to be that stupid!

Don't let the insane one get the upper hand, I know you already talked to the zoning guy.. but honestly, I believe she escalated it already by threatening with a gun, makes it worse (hopefully she doesn't have one)... I'd call the police and talk to them about it to see if you should file a report against her.

I think a page dedicated with event duties, is a great idea! Matter of fact, I'll volunteer to get it started!

If you have one up north, I'd love to go, though I would just attend and not bring or buy anything that couldn't be packed in a trunk or bike!
We have a volunteer!

I can fit 2 cases of beer and munchies in my saddle bags. I wonder how many chickens that converts to.
Sooo.....if she approaches me again I'm just gonna tell her nicely that I'm within my rights and perfectly legal and that all I can do help her is pray for her. Why do I have to have a fruit loop for a neighbor!!!!
I've found that listening, being polite and trying top cooperate simply doesn't work with crazy neighbors. Crabby's son tried to start an altercation yesterday. I laughed and walked away. That mad him really mad.

And mention the words "cease and desist".
I just took similar steps against the bi-polar guy on the other side of me. Came home from CS to find that he both cut and sprayed Round-Up on my veggies, herbs and trees. I reported the act of terrorism to the local authorities.

I guess he is off his meds again. He also threatened the guy on the other side of him. I don't know about some people.

Thank you Olive!! This is a very good suggestion! I will follow suit with this. I hoping she blew some steam off & feels better about voicing opinion.
Our zoning guy is very good at his job and I'm sure he has already made note of our conversation this morning. I really don't want to start a war but gosh dang it if she continues.....bring it on! Maybe she'll decide to move! LOL

I didn't know your house was big enough to have "wings".

At least you sell the sheep. I didn't realize you had two of the dirty H words, too! LOL! We got down to just one two winters ago and then finally put the old gelding down last year just after X-Mas. DD has been persistent in her quest for a replacement ever since, but I'm holding out.

We do have the alpacas but they barely eat anything. I could get behind Alpaca farming. LOL!

Well and the gray lamb... I guess... though I haven't heard from them and I think this week is weaning week so we'll see...

Hey, when we talked before I didn't ask you... are all your sheep hair sheep? Didn't really think about it, but since I want fiber it might not work if they are....

Good words to add. I'm beginning to wonder if she isn't dealing with some personal mental issues or nerve problem.....my aunt said maybe she's going through menopause and her hormones got her whacked out. lol At times when we 've talked previously and which hasn't been a whole lot, she didn't seem wrapped too tight.
