Welp...

I have put the eggs in lockdown.
I do believe ONLY FIVE eggs are viable at this point. I couldnt keep it cool enough and it ran at 102 for the week. (hard to tell an incubator to be LESS than the actual room it is being kept in. But then at night to work again).
I have more in there, but I have them separated. Five have moving chicks- perhaps beginning to be in the air cell.

Three are marked Tx and two are marked #2.

In reference:
The eggs marked #2 are from a pen with splash Naked Neck frizzle green-egger rooster with black and blue Naked Neck green-egger hens.
The eggs marked Tx are from a pen with splash Naked Neck frizzle green-egger rooster with splash Naked Neck fibromelanotic green-egger hens and a barred Naked Neck green-egger hen.

So splash frizzle X black/blue- no black skin
and splash frizzle X splash black skin and
splash frizzle X barred no black skin (

watch all three will end up barred zebra naked necks..)
I'm sure Olive is waiting for her " Uggo's "

Ivermectin is not labeled for poultry and feed store workers are usually minimum wage employees.

Best to know what you need and how to use it before you go in. There is no significant scientific backing for the use of DE for parasite control or prevention, only anecdotal. As a preventative it doesn't hurt anything and can certainly be used by anyone who would like. As a treatment, there becomes a fine line to walk between your convictions and the well-being of the animal. There's a reason Ivermectin is on the NOP Allowed Substances List for infestations that cannot be treated otherwise.
I have used Ivo-mec on my dogs for years for heartworm preventative.I used it on my cattle and I use it on my sheep and goats when I had goats. I was told by my vet to just make sure it is Ivo-mec and not the Ivo-mec plus.

Same here, I give it to my dogs every month.

If anyone else is thinking about it, make sure your dogs is not a herding breed because it can be fatal in them.

Also make sure you have a heartworm test BEFORE you use it. Then use once a month. Works great but I have never heard that about a herding dog. My Border Collie gets it and it doesn't hurt her but if that is the case I would make sure it is safe for herding dogs before I use it.

I am desperate for some room right now as I can't build fast enough so I am offering my Lakenvelders at a discounted price to any BYC member before I offer them anywhere else. I have 3 hens and a rooster. These are not hatchery birds and are very beautiful. This is their first year of laying so they are still young. If anyone is interested please pm me.

Heat exhaustion:
One site recommended drinking 2-3 glasses of buttermilk daily to heal from it . Bleh. ! Off to go get some of the buttermilk for me and the girls. Still don't know about the vitamins and herbs, except that i saw vitamin C recommended a lot.
Some years ago my sister came to stay with us in California and we went for a picnic by the river. We all got heat stroke. Found that milkshakes really help cool you down, plus I think the calcium and other stuff helps too.

Besides all that, it tastes good! It's still our go-to remedy.
