Imagine how you would feel with grandchildrens becoming teenagers.

Yeah, I sure do know how that feels. Makes one feel OLD! But my mind is still somewhere in my teens!

How about when your grandchildren graduate, Now that is old!!!!! My oldest granddaughter graduated last June.

Anyone still up? Been relaxing on the couch watching TV. We're having Easter Brunch at my daughter's. That way, the kids can all have time to go to the in-laws. Since Krisrose has become a honorary member of my family, she's coming too. It's going to be lots of people, lots of kids and lots of food! yeah! Have a good night all.... sweet dreams.

Another day started before the chickens get up. Sure wish I slept till at least 6am. Oh well, it gives me time to catch up on all the posts and work the crossword puzzle. I've been working the daily crossword since 1965 and recently I read that doing so was one of the things they recommend people do to improve their memory. There was several other things you can do but I forgotten what they were.

Morning everyone, but not a good morning. For some reason, the youngest cat and dog decided to play tag all night long, including in my room. And on top of it, I didn't close the curtains so the moon didn't help either. And of course I have to work ten hours today. At least I have a 3 day weekend and hopefully getting chicks this weekend.

Good morning everyone!

My brother, niece and nephew (and their families) are all headed here from the U.P. today to be here for Easter.

Since we can't all get together for Christmas, we made Easter our holiday to get together and have a big dinner and lots of laughs. They usually are tickled to get away from the snow for a bit. Since there is going to be 7 little great nephew and great nieces here, Judy decided to get some plastic eggs and put prizes in them and have a Easter egg hunt for the little ones.

One of the prizes will be $5.00 and it will be hid in the most obvious spot.....in a nesting box.

I'm off to work, you all have a great day!

Honestly, I really think there is a better way to say that I should switch their food than to tell me I'm messing them up big time. That was not very nice.

It's funny how things can be interpreted by the written/typed word. I read that post and didn't think there was a thing wrong with it. She was in her way being helpful.

Just remember no one is on here to be mean, and sometimes when reading information on a forum you need to keep that in mind.

I hope I didn't just sound not nice....just helpful.

LMC- Laying hens require certain nutrients to let their bodies produce eggs regularly. So the best thing to feed them is a 16-18% protein layer mix. We feed crumbles, there is less waste with our girls. Having oyster shells as a free choice option is good too. then if they need more calcium they will eat it. Save the cracked corn as a treat that gets thrown into their pen to scratch up. Our chickens prefer cat food, but don't know how healthy that is for them...so the cats dont get fed at night until the coop is locked up:D

We also have a light on our hens. I have a timer on them so they get 8 hours of dark at night. Not sure what the reccomended is. I know some folks don't do lights. I enjoy my eggs so I keep the light on;)
